DSA certainly takes the pressure off PSLE. Unfortunately my DS does not have any \"speciality\". His best subject is nothing compared to other children's. I guess we'll concentrate on PSLE.

Qualifying is 80% for academic. No mention of top 5% of level or whatever so where did that come from? Perception?
Students who are from GEP with average 80% and above will be exempted for GAT for RGS, NYGH and RI, if I remember correctly.

Top 5% of whole level is by past years observation by reading this threat. πŸ˜‚

DSA is really for selection of top of top cream of cohort, at the very top level, it is very competitive, so if your children are steady and all rounded in all subjects, they will have their fair chance entering their dream schools by PSLE; however, if your children have some talent in whosoever, you should give a DSA a try.

it is obvious that the schools will select the best. All above 80% can apply but probably the top 5% get it. Will try ds try for 2 schools, if can’t get in, will have to based on T-scores. Z

80% is to set a minimum scoreline. after that its the GAT performance, Tests Performance and Interview that matters....

If comparing only GEP, then that might be true, as GEP students will most likely form top 5% of the school anyway.

If non-GEP, then my feel is that the top 5% might not be that true.....example being in NYPS top maybe 30 - 40% might be even be equal to top 10% of other schools....

Anyway no harm trying, my DS got 2 COs even with results at 80% marks..... πŸ™‚
