<those leather look but cheapskate material)
Can totally relate to this.
They look like Dr Martens shoe leather and stitching but the PU Leather flakes off and peels its true colours or rather... skin ... in this instance, faster than the next upcoming festive season.
Hubs said what PU leather? Pui leather got la!
We initially didn't realise what caused it, but there were lots of black (that's the colour of the 'leather' on the dining chairs) v small flaks on the floor every day even with constant vacuum or 'masking taping'. Then one day realised it's those flaks that peeled off from the chairs!
The dining set was not cheap, at $1,700, and the stupid 'leather' lasted shorter than the $8 cushioned round chairs we bought from Courts! -

Same thing we both said. Not worth doing if too costly. Might as well change the entire aesthetics with a little bit more top up. I don't have the contact number of the place anymore. But it's easily located at Yew Tee industrial. It's a unique trade. It's an auntie manning the place. We just needed to bring all the seat covers.
Can I have your contact?Funz:
Busymom, $500-$600 each chair?
Our upholstery was only like $70+ for all 6 chairs. Extra padding all in and we chose our leather covers from their collection as well. Not plenty to choose from but it served our purpose.
Mebbe your chairs are branded.
My current chairs are ok, except that the leather is cracked and flaking. The few upholstery I checked all quoted $100+ per chair to which DH say might as well get new chairs.
Our dining set was from Millenia Walk, i think Harvey Norman. Nothing fancy schmancy, but lasted us more than a decade.. till today. :D
We got our dining set from Harvey Norman at Millenia Walk too. It has been 9 years and still good. The synthetic leather cushions are still ok, not flaky. I am actually very impressed because the set was very cheap and it lasted so long. -
Think synthetic and PU got diff. PU has the snowing flaks effect.
Worse if you have sweaty ppl sitting on them. :frustrated:
Yes, Millenia Walk HN has aesthetically pleasing furniture sets at value for money prices. Ours lasted till now, (the wood) which we brought over from our move few years ago. Too sayang to throw away. -
Seriously, the quality that you can get these days are not like what it was previously. My 1st set of dining table and chairs are still in good condition. It is now in my other property.
My current set, the original chairs lasted like 7 years before the padding was all worn. That was when we changed to the current chairs. These set of chairs, we had them for only 3 years and the upholstery(synthetic or PU or PVC not sure) all cracked and flaking.
Thatβs why DH say to get full wood. Will last longer. -

First, sometimes the sound of the mba becomes noticeably loud, and can feel there's some minor vibration near the power cable connector part, much like fan or motor turning more vigorously than normal. Then the batt drains v quickly (about 0.5-1 hr instead of the normal ~6) and takes forever to recharge. At the same time the part near the connector becomes real hot, such that you might want to touch it.Can share what problems you encountered?
Yes, my friend bought from Apple dealers' booth.
My IT person arranged for tech to come and take it back to check, and loaned me a smaller MBA instead. When it came back, tech told us they went back to change the whole motherboard as something was not working!
Then 2 wk ago, I realised my MBA i cannot use the trackpad to use fingers to zoom in or out of any softwares (other than Safari). I just told my colleague, who said that the it could be supported only by Safari but not others, but we're arranging for the MBA to be given another check-up soon... -
Dining table and chairs were from mum...well, they gotta go one day...marble table is still in very good condition but the part which is almost gone are the chairs...sitting area is going but athe backrest are still in good condition. Talk about retail therapy, I am all awake

We have had plain wooden chairs for many years and we prefer it. We find the upholstered chairs rather hot and sticky, and the upholstery doesn't last. In fact, our sofa set is also just plain wood. I put a cushion pad on it but my kids will throw it off and sit on the wood. I prefer to sit on the wood too.
Then maybe can lose weight. Since not so comfy will not sit at the dining table too long, so will not eat that much.Busymom:
Wood chairs as in without cushion at all? Would that be comfortable?
I think pretty ok well there is always the option of getting those little cushions that can be tied to the chairs. My parents' dining chairs are full wood, not uncomfortable. When there is good food one forgets what kind of chair one's butt is parked on. Or maybe it is because one's but is already fully padded, no need for additional cushion. -

Maybe the fan going to uplorry soon as the lubrication dries up.

Once the fan uplorry, the rest will follow bcoz of overheating.
For batteries, they deteriorate the moment they leave the factory, at a rate of ~20% capacity drop every year. Expect it not to last > 5 years.
Leaving it in the laptop all the time (even when plugged in power) kills it faster as higher temperature accelerates the demise of the batteries. -

Ebony is black right?

Actually also can cause my dining table has aged to a deep dark brown but with a bit of reddish tint.
