quote=\"33mama\"]btw, i agree that good secondary schools are not judged by the cutoff but by the production of good \"O\" level results and also character building and exposure. May I know where I can find the 2011 link for the banding please?

Unfortunately, MOE does not publish Banding anymore, which I find very unhelpful. I would go as far to say that it is such a stupid move as it deprives us of useful information when it comes to selecting secondary school for our DC.

My DS is in Sec 1 now and I used that information to help narrow down his choices of secondary schools based on his PSLE result.

However, some secondary schools still \"privately\" tout this banding. Perhaps, people with such info can contribute on kiasuparents?

TKGS cut-off t-score is 236 while TKSS is 234. Only 2 marks difference but it caused difference in 1 band hor.

              πŸ˜„ πŸ˜‚

Okay.. From what I know now , ( I am talking about the schools in the east in this case ) the school that is good in Chinese will be chungcheng high school main
The one in English is tanjong katong girls .
The one in design ... ( please correct me if I am wrong ) is tanjong katong secondary school
The one in life science is dunman secondary school <-- less well known but believe me, it is not a bad school indeed

              KSP's any more ?

In terms of new facilities, Ngee Ann Sec, Dunman Sec and Chung Cheng have underwent MOE PRIME renovations. Both Tanjong Katong have same facilities since the 90s.

Dunman secondary school offers a cca called life science society .

I think it would be good if a child likes life science and joins this school
There is a 10 week course on life science in this school and every dunmanite will be able to experience it

Ngee Ann secondary is a future school and has many IT savvy gadgets .
Good for the child in love for computers , I pad, I Mac. Etc I think this school has a close fight with dunman sec

Chung cheng high main is a really big school . So big that you can get lost in it πŸ™‚ it's building is much bigger and nicer than the schools near it's area . It is a sap school. If your child loves Chinese and wants to learn more in Chinese culture ,this is the best school in that area with a slightly lower cop
