I'm tempted to say something like I've sent you a pm professing my undying admiration but I guess I will tone it down and settle for something milder: You've got pm. πŸ˜‰

So believe its must be fridge and aircon. But only turn on 1 aircon leh. Ceiling fan use a lot of electricity?

My experience is that it is the aircon. The small one we have in the bedroom is already input 1.02 kw. If we turn it on for only 8 hours a day (even set at 27c), that easily adds up to 244.8kwh a month. That's almost half our total consumption in the months when we don't use the aircon.

The label on our 4-ticks fridge says it only consumes 562 kwh per year.

Now I think about it, don't think heater will take up so much electricity. We only switch on heater when we want to shower and turn it off after showering. In total we only turn on 30 each time x 4 pax. About 2 hours each day will use a lot of electricity?

            instant heater?

Anyway.... for those who is free enuff to read..

Water specific heat capacity is 4.2

To heat 1L water up by 1degC, need 4200J

To heat by 5degC, need 21,000J or 21kJ.

Normal water flow rate is approx 6L/min. So bath 30mins = 180L.

If you use 180L of water to bath, it requires about 21 x 180 = 3600kJ to heat it by 5degC.

            1kWh = 3600kJ = $0.22

So 30mins bathe maybe cost $0.22?

            numbers are approx lah..

If this is the case, then 4 pax in the house will likely incur $0.22 x 4 = $0.88 a day.
In a month, it will be $0.88 x 30 = $26.40 spent on instant water heater.

We shower twice a day but PIL shower only once a day. My husband can shower 4 times a day. Sometimes I can smell people that smell like just waking up from bed. If they think they don't have smell in the morning, they are wrong. The smell cannot even be disguised with perfume.

This one off-topic, but this is new: i know how to see if a person has just gotten out of bed - but never knew can even smell one...

How can one possibly not have a smell when he/she wakes up in the morning? That overnight smell is unbearable. Even spraying half a bottle of perfume doesn't work. Sometimes that quick shower freshens a person.

Btw, the hot spell is here to stay till Sep 😒

I always wonder how many times people shower a day.

If I go to the mkt in the morning, I shower once I reach home before unpacking the grocery.

If I need to fetch my boy from school, I shower before I leave the house.

If I take an afternoon nap, I shower before I lie on the bed.

After cooking dinner, I definitely will shower.

If I meet hubby for supper, I will shower again before I hit the bed.

Hm, if I do all the above in one day, the max. number of shower is 5.

The water heater is on when I go into the bathroom and off once I get out.
