The drinkers are the appliances that heat up or cool - tank heaters, airpots, irons, ovens, aircons, fridge etc.

For gas, I cook almost everyday and my gas tank (not city gas) lasts me almost 2-3 months. That gas tank costs $32.

Soup I use thermal pot after boiling 30mins. I cook rice on the stove also. Sometimes also do stews and curries. Just 6 days of dinner per week, occasionally lunch. Cook more when there are special occasions. Sometimes I use an electric steamer or my convection oven. But gas-wise, it's cheap. Birds nest I use slow cooker. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cherrygal, your gas is cheaper and so much more long lasting than ours. Unbelievable! :yikes: I am very happy if my tank of gas can last 30days.

I cook soup every dinner using thermal pot for only 30 min over gas. I heat it up for 15 min over gas before dinner.

Limlim, I cook bird nest by electricity slow cook hor.

The water heater is on when I go into the bathroom and off once I get out.

you'll save a lot of money if you don't on the heater..

electric bill + water bills (potentially)..

btw, if you're using instant heater, there is no need to turn it off.

                  It's operated by pressure switch.

I think instant heater is alot more energy saving than water tank heater but the water using instant heater seems not as hot as the tank type, do u feel the same too?
Now I think about it, don't think heater will take up so much electricity. We only switch on heater when we want to shower and turn it off after showering. In total we only turn on 30 each time x 4 pax. About 2 hours each day will use a lot of electricity?

instant water heater don't use too much electricity but water tank heater is horrifying. So we usually turn on the heater 10-15 min before use and switch it off immediately after use.

I pay 34 for gas too, usually last about 24-27 days. My oven is on electricity not gas.

GM & peapot, I use City Gas cook everyday (include soup) & my gas bill is around $21.27 never exceed $30 a month. Not sure if it's cheaper as I never use others before.
Wow!flower, your gas bill is my dream. ๐Ÿคท

Depends on which brand you use. My old one from Sim Siang Choon was not very hot. My current Alpha instant heater is already very hot even at 3/4 of the turn. Water from storage tanks are too hot and is dangerous if kids use the shower on their own. So I will still buy instant heaters no matter what. My mom, who used to use storage heaters, was also convinced by me to change to instant heaters when she renovated her home. Apart from energy savings, she hated that the storage heaters all started leaking after 5-7 years causing her false ceiling to have patches.

Precisely. Need replacement for a new tank when the storage heaters start leaking.

Will check out and change to Alpha instant heater when my storage tank leaks again. Thanks.
