I buy eggs with lower cholesterol.

For those eggs labeled as low cholesterol, there are those which just say \"low cholesterol\", priced around $2.20. those that say something like chicken eating special food eg beta carotene filled food and produce low cholesterol eggs, priced around $2.20-$3. Or those premium eggs, priced around $3 and above.

Which of the above do u buy?

those kind of eggs used in kopitiam for half boiled eggs, the eggs yolk are so big! Anyone knows what brand/types of eggs they use?

Anyone tried premium eggs eg those pack hexagonal plastic cartons, 6 only, about $3.60? Or Sakura eggs by chew’s eggs?

For thickening of stews and soups, try using potato starch instead. It gives a thicker consistency and will remain thick longer even after it cold. Corn starch is more suitable as thickener for normal stir fries.

i use potato starch to thicken gravy/soups too.....
yes, it will remains thicken for longer, unlike using cornflour...which becomes watery after a few stirs....

Yes, bits of red carrot. Bought the ready made carrot cake (look like a mini bolster!) from Sheng Siong.

Do u find the carrot cake fr sheng shiong hard ? unlike those we eat fr outside...
The 1st time when i fried it, to me, the texture is hard....
thus, the 2nd time before i fried it, i steamed it to soften it....

still trying to find other brands which has a softer texture....

                  Do you use fish sauce?

I think the fish sauce makes a lot of diff....only problem is that I cannot tahan the smell fresh from the bottle  the last time I bought one.

                  Any recommendation for fish sauce?

i have the same prob as u, cannot stand the smell of fish sauce fr the bottle.
but i still use it becos i ever tried w/o fish sauce, it didnt taste that good...

Taste wise, there's a difference. More fragrant. I buy fr wet market. Not sure if sold in supermarket.

I use the regular ones for baking.

The supermkt kampong eggs also can do for my younger boy.

My hubby prefers Msia kampong eggs, he says these are anytime more fragrant than Sg kampong eggs.

At 50cents each, they better taste good! That would be $5 a pack!

I think I will try out these 50cents eggs… See if they are worth it. My kid lves half boiled eggs, as such, I believe I shd buy quality eggs.
