Yamaha or Cristofori

Happy Mom:
Hi,Dear Parents,
I am new here and need your help.
I enrolled my daughter (3 yrs) to YAMAHA music appreciation (SengKang) since Jan/2013. I realized she is not very active during the lessons. She ignores the teacher's instructions and only participates when teacher teaches new song or the songs she likes. I do now know how she progressed in the lessons as there is no feedback from the teacher and I know nothing about music
. There are around 10 children in the class and I do not think the teacher can monitor every child's progress either. I am thinking about putting her into Cristofori, any feedback about the center at Anchorvale Community Club @ Sengkang? Thanks very much.

How about My Inspiration Music School?

A source told me that you can take piano exams in this school too. Standards must be good. The lesson is $35 for 45 min. -

Hi wkrf,
Thanks. Do you have any experience there can share? -
Hi, I am looking for music lesson for 3.5yo kid...
Understand Christofori (Little Mozart ) does not allow parent accompany while Yamaha needs parent accompany.
I was told in Little Mozart, they will learn the LM Piano but for Yamaha at this age, they don't learn any musical instrument.... so is Little Mozart (Christofori) better than Yamaha?
But then I am worry, for little Mozart, no parent accompany, meaning we don't know what they learn and how do we coach them at home?
I am dilemma where to send
Hope someone can advise.
Thanks in advance. -
It is very important for parents accompany during this phase. Schools that doesn’t allow parents to sit in may cite reasons such as promoting independence. However, my opinion is that kids at that age cannot be relied on to do the learning themselves without parental guidance. The real reason may be the school has a small room, and cannot accommodate the parents in the class.
So far, I have always been sitting in the music classes that my daughter attends. The schools actually promotes, and wants the parents to sit in, in order to provide guidance for the rest of the week.
At 3.5 years, the child should be able to learn an instrument already, and not just only do those aural and singing stuff. -
These 2 schools start individual instrument only at 5yo...
and he has never attended any music class before, so I thought this type is a good start for him ? I just worry if no parent accompany, then can how to coach him at home? Anyone send kid to Christofori , the little Mozart course before?
Thanks. -
Hi kiasuchabo,
You ever considered schools other than the 2 mentioned?
There are a couple of schools that may not be as well known, but offers far superior programs for the young child, and also let them learn the instrument much younger. -
Hi Waiyean,
would you advise the other schools.
Thanks so much

Hi Kiasuchabo,
Won’t mention the other school names in this thread, as it is not related to thread title. Have sent you PM on it. Cheers. -
Hi Wai Yean,
I’m interested too. Please PM me and I’m staying in the East.
TIA!
