take a look at the questions...it's not possible to know what went wrong yet.
sometimes (many times) difficult questions could be set. there could be several reasons.

I can feel how much stress we need to go thro’ in PSLE. Even for P4, exam period period is really stressful. I am very worried too.

          cftan:
Speaking about careless mistakes in Maths, son always lost marks in his Maths test due to carelessness. In the recent SA1, he lost 7 marks due to simple calculation such as 3-2= 2, 18/2=6, 7+8=14 etc. He has no problem to attempt the problem sums or any challenging questions. Wonder how I can help him to overcome this?

          Hi cftan,

I wrote an article on careless mistakes and it's at
          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/careless-mistakes-are-your-best-friends

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more info.

          John

Some very good schools set tough questions in SA1 n their teachers will tell the students \"for those who passed, it means you are good.\"

A mom shared this with me n her daughter is the one out of the 7 who passed.

Imagine how the other students feel...especially those who didn't pass.

            Sigh.

usually, most schools will set tough papers for P6 SA1, it's just a wake-up call and push the kids towards the final hurdle to clear the PSLE. No worries, just focus on motivating your child and give unconditional love and support! :rahrah: If your kid been very consistent fro P1-P6, the minor drop in SA1 in P6, don't sweat over it. They will overcome and go on to score in PSLE...and enter the school of their choice.

The fact is, we parents MUST manage our own expectations, we know that each child is different, and we know their ability and capability. As long as you aware and make a deliberate effort to manage your own expectations it's alrite! Been always sharing with friends and relatives, every child is different, accept who they are! A shark is still a shark and even there are different species of shark !

The greatest mistake from Parents, demanding a cat to become a lion! beyond what a child can achieve, then the child will be stressed out and to the xtreme ,something happened!:xedfingers: Give unconditional support and love!

I can feel this at P3.
Was very worried and stressed in April...don't know where to start.
Going through PSLE again in 2016...I wonder where to find stamina.

Don't get too stressed out over them. Parents need to know how much to push and hold back...you won't want a child to be burnt out before PSLE.

Some parents can be very tactless if their kids do well for SA1 and Prelims. Best to ignore them.

I guess with DSA, competition for places in RI already starts in P4 :slapshead:

Forget DSA, my daughter is weak academically…now can only hope she matures.

If use DSA sports, lagi jelak…more time spent dancing, singing or whatever.
