I'm not BeContented but...
Hi BeContented,
I've received ds results. As expected, he did very well for Maths (98) and science (90) but 2 B for languages. I think his total is around 81%.
What was yr child overall percentage when he applied for dsa thru Maths? Does it matter if the overall percentage is not high?
Thks!
The thing about any selection process is that it's the relative score that is important, or rather, how is your son's result when compare to the other applicants.
Some schools donch even look at past years' results...just apply for the 1st phase HAST/GAT and then they shortlist the successful ones for the next phase (camp, interview etc) -
Hi Nebbermind.
ok, understand. Just send him there to try
At the meantime, practice for the MO papers!
thks! -
DSA application not over yet?

Sorry I’m being very KS. ds is in P5, making plans to dsa next yr.

Did u DS participate in any MO competitions or SPSO or RSO ? -
He is participating in MO this year but his school did not ask the p5 to participate in RSO or SPSO. is registration to RSO or SPSO thru MOE schools only?
He is from a neighborhood school and they do not actively sign up student for major competitions, have to remind the school etc. -

It would be most helpful if yr DS has participated in such competitions as NUSHS actually requests for such participations & awards attained in the application. I didn't know until I DSA for my DS1.He is participating in MO this year but his school did not ask the p5 to participate in RSO or SPSO. is registration to RSO or SPSO thru MOE schools only?

But donch lose heart coz we’ll never know how much weightage they put on such participations coz not every pri school actively promotes them.
