      YAN2:
Registering my girl to CHIJ under Phase 2B, do we need a letter from the church or just show parent and girl's baptism certs?

if i not wrong, you will need a letter from the church to recommend the registration at phase2b and the pre-requisite is that you will need to show both the parent and girls cert to the church..if i am wrong, pls correct.

No need letter. CHIJ is a Catholic school. Only baptism certs are required and you show to the school not the church. Don't disturb the church unless you lost the baptism certs.

Hi, I am new here. I am thinking of enrolling my girl in PLMPS. I am a Methodist and thus will come under phase 2b but I stay at Bishan, which means that I am staying more than 2 km away from the school. Am wondering whether I should be a parent volunteer in the school to ‘enhance’ her chance of getting a place in the school?

If your child qualifies under P2B, there is no need to perform PV. PV will not \"enhance her chance of getting a place in the school\". However, should your child be unsuccessful during the P1 registration and if you are a PV, your child will be considered favourably in the waiting list of the school (list that contains names of those who are unsuccessful in the ballot).

Thank you for your reply. I guess I will serve as a PV in the school then. Will help me get to know the school better too.

Hi. I’m abit kiasu to ask this. Buy I better plan. My daughter (2nd child) will be going through registration for primary one 2,years,from,now, as an old boy in acs, my son will secure his place this July.

My worry is my daughter. I stay in bedok, 1km away from red swastika but am not keen,to send her there, being Christians ourselves.

I would like to send her to Methodist Girls.

Am I being silly ? Is there any slightest chance I can get her in by joining the Methodist ? I’m currently attending a big independent church… But will do anything to get her into a good school. Whatever I invest now, my third child will also benefit.

                  Thanks in advance.

If you are thinking of MGS, I think even changing church won't help unless you plan to move within 1 km of MGS. My friend is Methodist since birth, plus stay within 1km got balloted out Twice when she tried for her girl. (Phase 2b and 2c). Even plmg primary is not totally safe for phase 2b outside 2km.

I would think St Margaret would be safer if you try to do PV there. It's a good school as well in my opinion. It's Anglican background. The balloting history has been safe in phase 2b so far.
If you don't mind co-Ed schools, and given that you stay in bedok, I think geylang meth primary is an option if you do transfer to a Methodist church or do PV.

                    Just my thoughts...

                        Hi Parents,

I would like to register to become a Hokkien Huay Kuan member. However, I have learnt that I need 2 existing members to be sponsors. All the clan needs from the sponsor is just the IC number and signature. If anyone is willing to help, please email me at [email protected]
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
                        Thank you.
