Returning: your child is in which lvl? do u want to share more info with us , at least we can get a better idea.
thanks!
seems like not much discussion here for pei tong pri. Just to add a little from what I heard from my friend as her DS is in pei tong. Not as bad as some mothers sounded, my friend has her son there this year and so far everything seems good. As I am considering my gal there, if nan hua fails. It seems like the young Principal is very nice and teachers there are very caring towards the children too. they have interesting activities which they call Pal, not too sure what’s that, but doesn’t matter so long it’s good for kids. They also have Chinese speech and drama for P1 and my friend’s DS loves it a lot. one thing that nan hua and clementi might not have could be the music programme. It seems like the school pays for instructor to teach the children flute and it’s free!!! I have friend’s chidren at Pei Hwa, they need to pay for instructor fees even though it is school cca! i think that’s not fair. Only complaint my friend has so far is the food, think it’s little priceyI guess. The rice with some meat and vegs cost $1.50 or $2? a bit too ex for children I feel. I went to the school website and seems like there is open house for parents to sign up, I might consider if I can spare the time. -

My son is in P4. My younger son will be joining p1 next year.
Yes, PAL is part of the curriculum for P1 and P2. The past 2 years have been line dancing if I am not wrong as my son is P4 which is no longer available. During music lessons, students will learn different instruments depending on what is available for that year. It seems to be changing every year. Usually they will get the P1 and P2s to perform what they learned at PAL lessons during school events. There is no extra charge for the curriculum lessons so far.
One more thing to add about Pei Tong is that they use the interactive white board to teach, making lessons more interesting.
With regards to canteen food prices, there is gonna be a change of the management in July and food will be sold in set meals priced lower than current ones. This is one of the feedback from parents which the school acted upon.
The Open House will be in held in July. It is good for parents to visit for an understanding of the general environment.
Just to emphasize again, Pei Tong has balloting for Phase 2C sup last year and there is a long waiting list for admission into P1 up to now. There are also some parent volunteers who will be eligible for Phase 2B this year. So you might want to consider the probability when choosing schools. -

Oh yes, I heard about the board from my friend too. Quite high tech. Think the school is using a website for all sorts of e-learning I heard. But would our children always need to face the PC then?

Wow, seems like you have tip-top info about the school!
So far how's your experience with the school teachers since your son is already in P4? I read through the link but not much info on the teachers of Pei tong. -
Thanks returning!
I have signed up for the open house in july. Got a reply from the teacher and I shall take a look around Peitong. -
Hi all,
I am considering peitong and delighted to read all the good reviews on the school & principal. Understand principal had been in the school for few years. Is there any news in change of principal in near future? Also, can anyone share on the mix and behavior of students? Lastly, is there any bad area for parent like me to take note?
I look forward to any form of sharing. Thanks! -

Personally I have quite good impression of the school. But as for details I can't tell much too. The children and teachers look happy, not really a put-up I feel as they did not have it like other schools where children put up performance and there are booths for show. We were allowed to sit in classroom for observation and after which was a tour by their prefects. The teacher even emailed to ask for feedback about the open house. IMO, if a school bothers about parents feedback, I think the school cares. Some of the better schools might not even bother to reply a simple email to reject/inform, that's what I experienced before. My friend's child is in Peitong and so far she has no complaint except that quite a bit of testing still goes on though primary 1 shouldn't have. But I other Better Pri schools, like nanyang, my niece is there, they still have official tests for Pri 1. It's a choice between Peitong and clementi for me, and since my friend child has been okay so far, I feel safe to place my child too. I hope not to have bad experience 'cross fingers'! Haha! -
Hi all, anyone with kids attending p1 in pei tong next year?

Hi Parents,
I’m an ex-student of PTPS, I came to Singapore when I was P2, and entered PT. PT is school that allows for development in it’s student’s personality, that is, they do not force those values – care, responsibility, resilience, independence, integrity, etc.-- into us, but instead they influence us with those values. For example, my English teacher, Mrs Tan (or Mdm Chen Chai Kim) showed her trust to us by letting us keep the answer key of our exercise books.
PT is a school that provides the necessary materials for us to study. Surely all the basic knowledge is taught in school, but we can always dive deeper and just ask a few "deeper" questions during or after class (usually happens during Science). Teachers are always willing to teach us beyond our module, but we can choose whether to listen or not to. For example, we can request for additional supplementary classes (but I think anyone who does that will be murdered by his classmates…and this probably applies in every primary school).
I was in 3F, 4F and 5F, which were the best class of our level. However, students are only sorted by their results and learning ability. In this school, not having a good start is completely unrelated to what you achieve by the end of P6. It is never to late to start working hard, as teachers and classmates are always willing to provide help. Teachers, regardless what the class, are always willing to give their best, and there is no difference in what is taught (unless it’s a foundation class).
Also, PTPS promotes racial harmony. PT is a school with a shocking number of races. In my class, there were Chinese, Malay, Indonesian, Burmese, Bengali, Korean, Filipino… We usually converse in English, but sometimes we use our own mother tongue language.
PTers have very unique personalities, and we have different values in our hearts. One may value passion over responsibility but another may do the opposite. Therefore, sometimes students conflict and disagree with each other. Even I had some major conflicts with my friends. For me, I chose to take matters into our own hands. I developed my problem solving and interpersonal skills greatly, and grew up in PT knowing that we have to take care of our own problems, and bear the consequences of our actions. In other words, responsibility. This is unique of any primary school I have attended.
