Endeavour Primary

:welcome: SPI! Most affirmative endorsement indeed ... I am certainly getting excited to start the primary school journey with Endeavour together with my kid as well

Orientation Day 1 ! Everything was organised and orderly - excellent!
The principal and dept heads did provide a good overview of the school’s programs and i was pretty impressed with their Stellar as well as Chinese learning approach as well. School has just been awarded as 1 of the 5 prototype schools (not sure how different it is from so-called "future" schools though). In short, teachers & students leverage heavily on computer software learnings to conduct their lesson plans. My kid IS certainly going to be thrilled! & oh, their hall has wireless connection ! Essentially, as a parent, I like what I hear today - esp on their holistic programme visions.
Apparently Endeavour still have P1 exams - SA1 40% and SA2 60% with a new concept of alternative assessment of 10% contributing towards year end assessments. I AM supportive of assessments as this will provide parents a gauge of their kids’ relative learnings. I am more pleased however to hear that the orientation tests that the kids were taking today were not banding or ‘premier’ class allocation tests. These tests were merely used to guage the kids’ foundation in English Phonics and Hanyupinyin and to allow the school to recommend if extra pre P1 holiday classes were needed, which they stressed were not compulsory. (Per my kid later those questions asked were very easy - so as long as kids have been through formal preschool education I suppose shouldn’t be any problem at all). The banding will, instead, be done at end of P2 and P4 - that’s certainly a more equitable way of assessing students’ ability - AFTER the school has put in efforts to teach them!
I certainly look forward to Endeavour’s 1st P6 batch shining in next year’s PSLE and beating overall national average! -
Endeavour well done, really impressive!!
I am happy that morals are not only thought at home but also in school. I agree that grades and studies are very important but it will reflect on how the school teaches the kids to behave. I believe that it starts from an early age.
Have a nice day!!

hi, my child ia in class 1h, anyone has any comments on the form teacher, mrs theresa ng?
-
Endeavour allows the parents to bring/fetch the kids INTO/FROM within the school compound for the 1st 3 days :celebrate: Principals and teachers have also been very tolerant and understanding of the parents' eagerness (to take memorable snapshots & videos) and anxiety and over-zealousness <KUDOS>
Very well organised - they had different strings tag to the P1 shoes to help the teachers to guide the respective students to the correct bus waiting area & exit gates. 1st 3 days they had recess food brought into the respective classes and will let the buddy accompany the child to canteen to buy food on the 4th day - - after the children are more well settled. Great strategy to filter parents from adding to the P1 canteen woes !
Would be good if the timetable has remarks for the abbreviations. Figured out what is MOE, SS etc - but can someone tells me what is \"CT\" class? -
I think 'CT' is contact time. But am not sure what they do during this period. Will need to find out from my son.
I remember that when i was in primary and secondary school i also had this. That was more than 25 years ago.

Will be good if we could pass the textbook to the younger boys or girls studying in the same school.
But must be in good condition. Save cost.

Thanks cristlanne - yes you are right, CT = Contact Time. I must be from the older generation - never heard of that
& thxs for the pass book back to school idea - great suggestion! -
Hi all.
I am "targeting" Endeavour Pri School for my pair of twins(born 2005). Staying within 1km. However, I am also eyeing on ChongFu and hope that my kids can get it there(DH is the SHHK member of 4 yrs but we stay >2km, and at the same also if CF too stressed for the kids).
Looking forward more and more sharing on Endeavour Pri School. It’s such a dilemma. -
Hi,
I have a pair of twin (Born in July 2005) as well. Within 2km of Endeavour and will most likely be enrolling them to this school.
