Hello all,

I've read lots of posts regarding AEP and MEP.
I suppose that since AEP and MEP are two electives in which the school pumps lots of resources into(Third Language is external), it naturally expects its students to perform well.
In addition, the method of including/excluding Third Language marks from the GPA has only been recently put into place and is still undergoing review, so this system is subject to change and maybe who knows, AEP and MEP might follow suit.
For parents of JH1 students, AEP has 8 credits, making it currently the module with the highest number of credits. So if your child did not do well, AEP will most definitely swing your child's grades down as it is the most important factor in your child's GPA. As a JH3 AEPian, I would say that the JH1s are really really talented and their artworks are really good Do encourage them to work hard and explore more! After all, practice makes perfect!

I'm considering to transfer because i feel that SCGS IP is still not up to standards yet. I can see that all the teachers are putting in a lot of effort, but its not very effective. Its mainly just teaching us a lot of hard stuff. For example, we're learning accounting but haven't even started on algebra. And we have tons and tons of performance tasks etc but rarely have homework. And when we do have homework, it's too much at one go. They would tell us to do the whole workbook and hand it up 3days later. And during that three days, we would have at least 1 Cca day and three other tests to study for. All the tests, performance tasks and graded assignments are always cramped together at the last week.


As for NJC, i heard that their math and sciences are really good, and they do not stress their students so much. Its all evenly spread out. They also have boarding experience which I find really interesting and fun. By having boarding experience, it imparts independence and teamwork too. Moreover, it's a government aided school.

Hello Uhm so basically I'm a 13 year old kid currently receiving education in SCGS, and I'm thinking of transferring to NJC. Could anybody tell me what are chances of getting accepted by the school? And also, am I making a wise decision? ><

1) Independence can be attained under any circumstances, the more trying the circumstances the more you'd learned how to get your independence; the more you disliked the environment the more you have got the chance to learn to overcome it.

2) Trust yourself... and your choice, don't believe in everything you heard.

Don't think so.. GPA 2.0 is the passing mark. And.. if you're in J2, it seems to be the norm according to the principal's brief at the end of semester 1.

Hi I don't think your comments are valid. I checked out the iP teachers at SC all hv very gd track records and experience. The school promotes holistic development and with 114 years they hv proven themselves.
Maybe you are not clear or have difficulty coping? Also I am sure you can feedback and maybe that will help clarify your misunderstanding.

I am an alumni of NJC and while the latter have merits when it comes to a caring and nurturing of holistic development, SC is definitely tops. Lots of old girls come back and I also see them coming back to help in the school, definitely a place that pushes high standards in academic and character.
