Yes, if you’re free, bring your P5 kids to the dsa open houses…even if they’re not applying…it may spur them to work towards their goals.


Also, do attend the briefings conducted by schools for P6 students/parents. Crash their party. So you know in advance what to prepare.

Nus High open house starts as early as Apr, while HCI/RI in May.

I did bring my younger boy along for Open Houses as well. But some schools he was totally not interested to going to visit.

O, that's because SOTA does not take in any student after the DSA and they have camps and auditions to attend. Been looking at their curriculum and their syllables, very interesting...

where to get info on RIPMWC ? as for CCA, yes, no \"useable\" CCA though he won some prizez in some international competition but not the CCA highlighted by RI

It's organised by RI for P6 students. Registration thru schools only, not tuition centres. And some schools allow Maths club and selected group of students to participate only. So, check it out with school and dont miss it.

he is not in the advanced math club, so no automatic participation

sad hor? mine also missed it becoz of such &(#)($) rules. Teacher explained due to lack of resources…must connect to internet, I think.

I like SOTA's curriculum. But I notice that they don't have regular CCA nor compete in competitions locally. CCAs like Band, Symphony orchestra, or Chinese Orchestra, etc, etc. For our kids who are accustomed to the 2yr rush of SYF, teamwork & coaching juniors, this would be something they would miss. That's why I would hesitate to put my kids to SOTA.
