Care to share your advise to the following:
            1) What are the good CCAs to join in St Nic? Is Choir a good choice?
            2) What are the enrichment program available? Any Chinese Speech & Drama class?
            3) Do they stream the level, if so, what are the criteria? πŸ˜„

              1. It depends on what your DD really likes. The school also make use of PE lessons to identify talents to join competitive CCA. If your girl is not sports incline, she can join choir or guzheng.

              2. There will be enrichment programs organised by school which we will receive a circular from sch in due course

              3. The school streams the girls in P2 and P4. There are usually 3 best classes and 3 mixed ability classes. They used to stream P3 girls too but I think they scraped this year. So your girl is likely to have the same teacher and classmates in P4.

Thanks Sachiko. When you said SNG streams at P2 and P4, does it mean that the girls will be streamed into a class at P2 and P3, and then to another class at P4, P5 and P6? If so, what are the criteria used for streaming? Do you know which are the 3 best classes in P3?

I mean the sch will based on P2 year end result to stream them into P3. The top 40 girls with highest total aggregate will go into best class, then the next 40 girls to 2nd best and third best 40. The remaining girls will be randomly allocated to the other 3 classes. The sch will stream the girls again at the end of P4.

For girls from other schs who just joined St Nicks are usually placed in the 3 mixed ability classes first (unless the sch has changed this system). They used to stream the girls at the end of P3 but I think they have scraped it (TBC).

I do not know which are the best classes for P3 as I don't have DD in this level but I thnk you can ask the teacher during meet the parent session this month. The best class always changes every year i.e. if last year best class for P3 was \"Faith\", but it might be \"Hope or Purity\" this year.

So far so good, she seems happy with the new school, friends and teachers. Gotta continue to monitor cos kids sometime don't express themselves so well. Thanks πŸ˜„
