Kids' ambitions

Must support and motivate your daughter. Your house will have varieties of yummy looking deserts for tea time.
We brought her to Genius R Us baking classes a few times and she enjoyed them. But when we get her to cook in the kitchen, she complains that it's too hot!

My daughter wants to be a teacher. She adores her current cc teacher to bits. She will come home and mimic the way her teacher teaches. Sometimes, she will even correct my tone when reading story books.

When my DS1 was in N2, he wanted to be a maths/english teacher. As the year progressed, he created many idealistic scenarios on how he'll 'teach' his class. When he was in K1, he wanted to be the principal of his 'futuristic' school -with basement parking, where the children can 'zoom' around on special boards, etc. I think he watched too much Kim Possible & Danny Phantom cartoons & HSM.

Mid-way this year in K2, he suddenly decided he wanted to be an author, like Marc Brown of the Arthur series. Then just before his 'graduation' recently he wanted to be a doctor (my mom had been 'brainwashing' him with my brother's achievements  ) AND author.
Whatever his ambitions, I tell him, he'll need to make sure he studies hard, passes his exams with flying colours & get the necessary degrees first. (Kiasu mommy here!) I tell him \"you'll be able to make it as long as you work hard for it\". Hope all this sunk in.

same here. told my gal she needs to study hard, read more and be knowledgeable in order to impart her knowledge to her students. She became extremely hardworking then.

Hahahhaha..my daughter is adamant that she wants to be a cosmetic surgeon. I think she get the idea when we were talking about women going under the knife to look more beautiful and that it's a multi-million dollar industry. She told me that when she grows up and becomes a cosmetic surgeon... she will make me look like now!!!!EN:
My daughter, the fashion advisor wannabe, start her skills on me. \"Mum, your top & bottom totally does not match. Go and change your top to the other one\".
That's funny :). Just be glad she's not planning to be a plastic surgeon.
I begged her to make me look another 10 years younger! It's hilarious. She said that to me when she was only 6. -
Wow! You've secured your eternal beauty. Welcome to Kiasu parents Powerpuff Mum.
Luanee wrote
But when we get her to cook in the kitchen, she complains that it's too hot!
For daily delicious yummy looking snacks, please do invest installing aircon in the kitchen. It's a small sacrifice but just not very friendly to the monthly utilities bill.
In 20 years time, if you happen to see a well dressed grandmother with matching clothes, shoe & handbag, jet setting from one country to another, chances are, that will be me! Thanks to my fashion designer dd & my pilot ds. -
I don't know what my maid has been feeding my 3yo daughter, but sometime back she said she wants to be a maid when she grows up  . When I woke up from my faint, I told her to go fetch me a cup of water and panadol, bring in my newspapers, kill some cockcroaches along the way, before she see to the poo-poo my dog has kindly deposited on the veranda. Since then, I never hear her repeat that \"ambition\" again.

Chiefkiasu,
that is so funny!
But then again.. they don't know any better.
My son wants to be a fighter pilot even when he's in kindergarten, so one day his teacher asked everybody what they want to be when they grow up.... he declared proudly.. \" I want to a Fighter Pilot\".
The other kids don't know what's a fighter pilot so when he got home that day.. he told me he changed his mind.. he wants to be a policeman.. cos at least everybody knows what's a policeman! -
my currently says he wants to be an astronaut. 2 months ago he says he wants to be a baker …

2 yrs ago, my elder one wanted to be a Lion-Dancer and a Builder.
Lion-Dancer –> work during chinese new year.
Builder –> work during rest of the year
In Jan/Feb 2007, he wanted to be a farmer. That’s after our trip to Australia in Dec 06.
These days, he is determined to open a bakery. Daddy will bake, Mummy will be in-charge of publishing, and he is the cashier.
BTW, he is 9yo now.
