Hi all, any advise whether should I choose Geylang Methodist Pri (0.6km) or Kong Hwa Pri (0.89km) for enrolment in 2014. I am in dilemma as I wish my son to study the chinese culture environment.

If I choose Kong Hwa, do you think i hold a chance if balloting. (Singaporean kid)

      TIA

        Twinsmum:
Hi, mummies of children in KH,

Making plan for my girl (born 2009) enrolment in 2015.

Can I check what are the CCAs that KH excel in? What are the CCAs that they offer? Is there school opening? Is it very stressful academic? What's the likelihood of getting selected as a PV? Or get into KH.

I'm residing <1km from the school but apparently, there are a few new developments sprouting near the school within these few years and I'm afraid competition will be tougher.

        Experienced mummies, pls advise! Thanks!

        Thanks!
        Hi

KH is known for excel in table tennis.

Not sure what's the chance of PV. But I know the balloting for Phase 2B has been quite competitive in recent years.

You may want to be a PV to improve your chance.

Geylang Methodist is not too bad too. But of course, if you want a chinese culture environment, KH is the one.

                Hi all,

Is there a fixed date for P1 orientation?
My son is going to Kong Hwa P1 in 2014.
I am planning holidays for Dec 2013.

Saw last year was 24 Nov.
is it always around same date.
When and how to find this info.

                Any advice?
                Thanks.

You need to prepare yr son well in Chinese.

                        In p1 term 4 (kong Hwa) :-
Children will be given a picture, to look at.
Based on the picture, p1 pupils will write minimal 5 lines in chinese, to describe the picture. The vocabulary would be familiar to P1 pupils, because it would have come from Chinese vocabulary pupils had been exposed before daily, from p1 term 1 to 4, taught in Chinese lessons. Only thing is can pupil remember how to say out the nouns, in Chinese?

Pupils weak in Chinese, better buck up.
Kong Hwa is an academic driven school, have homework.
