All About Full-Time Maids
-
Hi Mum03,
Your maid is lusting after your hubby!! very obvious. If she don’t respect you then in future it will be harder to control the situation. If you do not have any problem with getting temporary help with baby sitting then perhaps you want to consider sending her off.
By the way, do you mind to reveal her name? She sounds kind of scary. Probably will be able to help other employers who hire filipino maids. -

Hi mum03,This is my story of my Flipina maid who is with me for a year now. She was a new maid, first time out of the country to work. She has2 kids. Initially taught her how to keep the house clean and to take care of my DD. Has days pass, she started taking care of my hubby, more then me.
We were once in ECP hawker centre after church service for lunch. It was a hot afternoon, while we were eating we were perspiring.
My Maid took a tissue and gave to my DD, to give it to my hubby to wipe off his sweat. :x and here I am also sweating \"NO TISSUE FOR ME\". Told her off, that her job is to look after my DD and the house not my husband. Another incident, while driving back from church (Hubby not in town), DD ask 'What date is daddy's b'day\", before I could reply my effeicient maid said \" 8th\". I was :x , how do you know my hubby's B'day, or I saw his passport lying around, and she as checked it :!: .
I gave her a piece of my mind, and told her where she stands in my family, told her that alot of Flipinas like to break family, by stealing other people's husband. Her reply was \"they also have needs\". :stupid: When I ask her is she one of them. She says that she will not do has she is god fearing. :?
Told her that, she do not need to communicate with my hubby. If she needs anything, only communicate with me. Its like walking on a sword.
Thank God hubby is not in town most of the time. Hubby does not speak to her at all.
What will you do if you are in my position
If this was happening to me, I would change maids.
For me, it would be like sitting on a time bomb. I would not have any peace of mind after what she would have said about having 'needs' part.
Just my own humble personal opinion
-
mum03, does your helper have a crush on your DH or does she see him as someone who can satisfy her \"needs\"?
IMHO, this is tricky indeed... and who can guarantee that she's only SAYING it. My maids have professed to be God-fearing but they still lie! -

Hi peapot,Hi everyone!
My new maid can arrive early Agency says I should able to pick her up 20th Jan 2010. In the meantime, I need to tolerate this current one. Really can't stand her face any longer. My mum says its okay just send her off till the new one is in as she says she can't cope with all the housework as well. My mums really treats her as temporary help and my mum does all the cooking which is good at least our food are safe.
I m counting down each day. Its like looking forward to a holiday retreat, you can't wait for the maid's last day to come. 12 more days!!!
I hope her permit cannot be approved and she cannot come back as S pass. I very mean right? But I m hoping that will happen.
Haven't read you for a few days. Was wondering whats up. Now I know.
Anyway, take care, don't get your blood pressure high with 'her' and good luck on your new maid

I think your maid either has something on your hubby, or she's just trying to suck up to the big guy in the house. My fren told me (from years back) that her maid shows her no respect, but is absolutely deferential when her hubby says something. It's a cultural mindset - that the man is the ONE in charge of family; they (maids) may not know that nowadays 'lao po' speaks louder than the 'ang'.This is my story of my Flipina maid who is with me for a year now. All boils down to what your hubby feels. If he detest that type of attention, HE should tell the maid to only follow ma'am's instructions. In any case, if she makes further advances to him behind your back, better to send her packing..... -
peapot:
You really should fire her now! Don't even let her get her chance to get her S-pass! Gosh, i'm more mean but she doesn't deserve our sympathy for being so cruel to you.... my mum does all the cooking which is good at least our food are safe.

Have you considered temp meals arrangement by caterers? You only need to cook your rice and they supply the rest. It's actually far cheaper than cooking (friend did the actual sums with gas/water etc). I tried it when i was maid-less for 3 weeks and honestly, rather like home cooked food (hokkien/teochew style). Portion's generous too.
As for housework, just close your eyes for a while, do only the important things for basic hygiene. Gotta show her that you can survive without her! -
blurqueen:
well blurqueen, pain as it may be, at least she owned up. If anything goes wrong in the house (toilet bowl cover become coarse due to wrong detergent used, broken things, scratches on the cooker), my maid will look very blank and say 'Not me'. Everything that happen also not me, I always end up asking her, \"so what you do at home?\"
i didn't force her to pay me other than the hp bill but she took the initiative to write down the damages to return to me. the marble obviously can't be counted unless i get professional ppl in to polish it. anyway i told hub, will let her 'return' us the $ which we will put in as her angpao when she goes back for good.
She only cleans the house, but amazingly, nothing gets spoilt in her hands. I imagine that my house must be haunted cos no one else does the cleaning. :stupid: :stupid: -

welcome to the club hquek, there must be a Domestic Helper vocab phrasebook with these as the top excuses:[ If anything goes wrong in the house (toilet bowl cover become coarse due to wrong detergent used, broken things, scratches on the cooker), my maid will look very blank and say 'Not me'. \"Not me\"
\"I don't know\"
\"huh?\"
\"It wasn't like that when I say it...\" and my favourite...
\"ehm, I forgot ma'm\" -
ha ha…and I like that their eyes will start misting and become red. All because I told her (not shouting hor) that this is not done the right way.
Every darn thing, "sorry ma’am". even when it’s not their fault. wah lau eh…I not looking to pinpoint fault, just recommend better practice only.
Ask them if they had seen something (NOT implying that they took it, but just asking if they saw an item that was carelessly misplaced by myself/kids), immediate reaction is "NO, I never see". Then I wonder if she actually clean the house (that’s ALL my maid has to do: cleaning only. Kids taken care by grandma, cooking by grandma/pa). -

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: my previous 2 maids were like that. this new maid is too timid to try that on me.
my 1st maid even used my Mac and said didn't. then when i asked why her stuffs pasted all over my desktop? she said she was being nice and tried to off it for me and dunno how she clicked here and there ... nice try since she needs to type in her password to access her account! Told her she may be smart, but never smarter than me
