thanks coralie for the information. so far how u find Compassvale Pri Sch?
So far, I've found that the school has met my expectations 🙂

For P1 last year, not much homework. For those that lag behind, they have extra help in place for the students catch up. There were workshops for parents on chinese/hypy and maths.

For P2 this year, I've noticed that they are given more homework/worksheets. Also, my girl had a change in FT for term 2. Not sure what is the reason as it was not communicated in the letter sent out to parents. On the whole, I find that her teachers this year are quite caring although my girl commented that the new FT is quite fierce.

As from this year, the school has gone single session. So for Mon & Tue, school starts at 7:40am and ends at 2:30pm. The students will get recess and lunch breaks in between. For the other days, school will end at 1:30pm. Afternoons are reserved for extra classes like speech & drama, CCAs and remedial lessons.

This year, there are swimming lessons conducted at Hougang Swimming Pool on Wednesday afternoons but we din sign up as they don't conduct the lessons on a weekly basis.

        Hi everyone,

I’m new here and will need to register my girl in a primary school this July/Aug. Need some info about SENGKANG PRIMARY SCHOOL?

How is Sengkang Pri School in term of academic wise? Are there homework for P1? Do they get homework everyday? Is there any SA2 in October (this year)? How about the show-n-tell? Do they need to do props? Do parents need to help to do research for them? Any show-n-tell during chinese lessons?

        Thank you.

Hi all, just want to ask:

My son is under phase 2C. I intend to register him in Rivervale Primary School, which always need to ballot under 2C. I presume I will still go to the school for registration when 2C date is due? After they have consolidate all 2C applicants then they will decide if balloting is needed? If so, how do I know when will balloting be held and I will need to go to the school on balloting day? TIA!

Rivervale Pri is one of the schools that you can apply online. So, you may either apply online or go to the school for the registration.

Actually, at the end of the third day of P2C registration, the school should know applicants of which distance category will go through balloting. So, you may go down to the school personally or call them (bearing in mind that the staff of the school will be overloaded then. So, they may not answer the phone.).

Official confirmation on the distance category for balloting will be posted on MOE's website and TV text.

If you choose to go down to the school to register, the school will indicate the balloting date and time when you are there to register. No, you don't have to be present for the balloting. After balloting, you may call up the school to enquire or wait for the school to send you the confirmation.

This is siblings of current students entering P1 next yr. The registration already started few months back. Somebody called up the school to get this number. If there are some parents only registering it today or tomorrow, the number will go up. So after Phase 1, effectively left only about 50% or so of the vacancy.
