I can only have intermittent sleep until the boys are weaned off the boobies. 😉 But I don't mind. I can live on little sleep and function ok so far. I have been insomniac since school days. I don't really like to drink coffee because it'll keep me awake for god knows how long more. :faint:

Catch up again later! I'm off to catch late lunch and a movie with my boys. Ta ta! :imanisland:
enjoy ur time with ur boys.

...and i duno to envy u or not...now coffee has no effect on me.

wah...but have the tot of ur interpretation of the same thing might not be the same as the pre-teens?

huh? Read and re-read and somehow dunno what you mean. Think my brain kinda fuzzy today. Got only 3+ hours of sleep cos DD came over at about 4am saying she had a nightmare. Thereafter I could not really get back to sleep.

        paiseh...pardon my english.

what I meant was that has the thought cross your mind that what you interpreted from the story book might not be the same interpretations as ur kids?

like the paragraph u read liao is like nothing much to you but might make ur kids think of other things?

unless if u ever had an inkling that some parts is not really clear, u will skip the book?[/quote]I guess you will need to know your kids to know if they are ready to handle certain subjects. And as parents, we tend to err of the safe side. And frankly, kids tend to be more literal so they will read the passage as is. The adults are the ones who infer too much sometimes.

And since I have read those books, we sometimes discuss the stories and characters. Like I was not too sure if I should let DD read the Hunger Games series but she wanted to, so for parts that I thought were iffy, I asked her what she thought after she had read it.

We read together most nights, just before bedtime. All of us will snuggle up in my bed and each read our book.

sbks, u try abstaining from coffee for a day or two. See got effect or not

I thought coffee has no impact on me too. I could drink coffee anytime and still fall asleep within 10min and sleep soundly for the night.

Recently I had to abstain from coffee for supposedly three days. I tell u, the first 24hrs was the hardest. I was literally suffering from withdrawal symptom- yawning non stop and watery eyes. But by third day, I was functioning as normal.

Your kids are still young. Doubt you can really get them to read quietly with you. They will more likely need you to read to them.

When kiddos were younger I will always read to them before their bedtime. They get to choose 1 book each. Then when they were able to read independently, they automatically picked up a book to read just before bedtime. This has become quiet time together.

First thing I need at 6am…coffee. I can sip coffee with eyes closed…and I love that smell.

Without it, I will be yawning, having wet eyes and feel very lousy.
I must make sure I buy coffee powder before I run out.

My recent me time includes watching Dream Maker, the latest Ch8 9pm drama. I have not been watching ch8 drama series for the longest time, years and years and years. I wasn’t even chasing The little Nonya show.

Not sure why I like this particular show…maybe it’s a bit kaypo becos it’s abt what’s behind the scenes. LOL.

I find myself eagerly watching the catch-up version becos the kids go to bed at 9pm and TV is not switched on when hubby and kids are asleep heehee

Seems coffee is your pick-me-up or rather, comfort food first thing in the morning.

Hope you don't make coffee with your eyes closed too. If you do, you will probably wake up in double quick time!!!

On the contrary, my TV is on after hubby n kids go to bed! That's how I get my ME time, watching the news, Korean dramas on U Channel etc...in my bedroom. But most often, I will watching my korean dramas on my Samsung note 2 or iphone as I find the screen size more comfortable than the iPad as I am long-sighted. Sometimes I can watch till 3-4am, and I am absolutely in my own world, no harassment from kids.

My recent ME time is watching Taiwan version of Fabulous Boys every Monday 12 midnight. Its exciting to watch latest episode on iPad, although I will be a zombie at 6am...so shiok, no advertisements. I get to swoon over my fav actor. Absolutely ME time because kids and hubby are snoring :rahrah:
