Hi Mayursahni & NFN08, I was wondering if you've had any luck with the school transport issue? We are also in the same boat

Hi All,
My daughter is due to start P1 in 2014. We are considering b/n Queenstown Primary and New Town Primary. We are currently overseas. Any ideas which is better school?
Would appreciate some feedback.
Thank you in advance -
Hi,
Queenstown Pri School (Qtps for short) is having their open house on the 13th July (next Sat). It will be good to see what they offer. Maybe you can ask someone to check out the school on your behalf if you are not able to make it.

Hi BMM,
Thank you for the response. Unfortunately all my family members are travelling during this period, hence nobody around to make the visit. Even their website seems to be under construction. Not able to access much of their information.
I also understand that Hindi is offered as a second language in QTPS. Any feedback on hindi classes?
Thank you -
Hi All,
I am trying to connect with parents whose children have opted Hindi for second language at Queenstown Primary School. My daughter is due to start Pri 1 in 2014. We are currently overseas and planning to return in Sept. As such I am trying to get some info before the registration starts.
Thank you -

Information on Co-curricular programmes/activities are still unavailable. The main page and few other links works. I am also trying to access their PSLE results for recent yrs.

Hi hi, it's been very long since I've written here. I received some PMs recently from concerned parents thinking of registering at QtPS about the issue I raised before, and I wanted to write a bit more to clear the air and dispel those concerns.
- Thanks, kwokwc, very sensible words indeed. I have since spoken to people who live in the area and who know ppl with kids studying in the school and they very much echo your praise for the (new?) principal's approach, and feel somewhat more reassured now...kwokwc:
I think every school has some issues. Just try to make sure that our kids don't mix with the wrong clique. I was from a very good school, but all along there are problem teens and g**g, I just make sure I don't mix with them.
My kids who are studying in QTPS now are doing fine and I like the way the principal and vice principal's direction.
We did eventually register and send our DC to QtPS. I have to say that our concerns proved to be unfounded. DC settled in well and made good friends. Also, I volunteered to come to a P2 class to speak to them as part of the Junior Achievement programme that the school organised. In all of our experiences, there were no sign of any g**gs.
I would really recommend QtPS for those still on the fence. It does have a nice community atmosphere and there is a really good Parent Support Group whose members volunteer for things including helping weaker students with learning to read, organising events, etc.
Also, the school was refurbished last year and even has a new multipurpose hall, so the surroundings are quite pleasant too.
