If you can afford the time, heart pain and headache, do it yourself will help save a lot of money.

We sourced for everything ourselves. From the lights, to windows, to tiles etc.

We knocked down the wall of our kitchen and was quoted $2200 for the sliding glassdoor by our contractor. We contacted a supplier directly and paid only $900+ with GST.

I think it depends if major or minor reno. When I shifted to another HDB for DS school..with already 2 children, I didn't have time to source different contractors for major reno etc..Some contractors have multiple projects including sub work from IDs and some don't offer suggestions in designing or space planning.

I source and read reviews at renotalk website but in the end I went with ID companies since I didn't have much time coordinating reno.

Finished my reno...some minor touch up needed...since they provide warranty...so like tap leak or solid surface scratch I just call the company and they fix it FOC.

I went to this site to get quotes...since competitive, the price and stuffs given is quite reasonable for my renovation

I think I’m going to take a look at Rugman dot com and see what kind of clearance rug prices they have.

I think it is fine getting a contractor who are recommended by your friends.

Although contractors do not have much design ideas compare to ID, but the good thing about it is contractors normally accept your design instead of persuading you to drop this and that idea.

Sometimes, ID will persuade you to accept their recommendations saying according to their experience it is better that way, but end up the ID idea may not be what you like and is costly…

            just my 2 cents 😃

Interior Designs are very important for home and shop decoration. It require some nice furniture, curtains and decoration pieces. But it be perform in less cost by some setting and wall papers.

My good aunt does quality renovation and interior design at reasonable cost. She has many good reviews from her customers however she does not have any fan page or any site to show at the moment (I always advised her to set up an account somewhere with good quality showcase to share with others)

you can be assured on the person and the quality of works.

let me know if you are keen. Good day!

Used them years ago for mum's apartment. They are contractors who contract the job from Dulux. Personally thought it's good if you don't have anyone to go to.

This may sound crazy... but we actually do touch up and paint the exterior of our house (reachable area - eg car porch, balcony) by ourselves. The kids and maid are all in full force. We've done it twice in the last 5 years. The project for this year would be to paint the girls' room and redo up the decor as my disney wall border decal is peeling off and looking unsightly now.... a project after PSLE and SA2.
