Its the same for new school. They will take in all SG children first. If the no. of applications exceed the no. of places, they will ballot according to distance. So you must have a backup school to fall back.
-
Backup school in Phase 2C Supplementary in which you are staying at 1km.If staying more than 2km then best try get in the school with better chance at Phase 2C.

Depending on which phase requires balloting. The announcement and balloting will be conducted after the registration for that phase closed and before the start of next phase.
so do you mean the school will announce which category will ballot straight after the registration closes on 1 Aug?qms:
Announcement result date - this is usually the date that schools conduct balloting.
Let's say the school conducts balloting for those in the 1-2 km category and you live within 1 km from the school. It is, thus, more or less confirmed that you have confirmed a place in the school. Don't have to wait till the announcement results date. -
Dear mummies
I ve few questions I hope u could helP answer
- my girl will fall under phase 2c and my Hse is within 1pm for both GES and APS, which one should I attempt first? I hesitate to enroll girl into GES concerning would be too "rough" for her but I don’t have help to fetch her mid day and APS don’t hv a after school care yet…
- we are PR, so between PR stay < 1km vs SC stay 1-2km who will get priority?
- registration for AP is first come first serve ie need to start Qing early in the morning for 2C?
Thanks in advance for ur advice! -
desperatemummy:
Can only answer the last 2 questions. SC will have absolute priority, so SC 1-2km, >2km will also have priority over PR <1km. Do check the balloting history for GES. APS is Alexandra Pri, the brand new school? APS will surely have seats for PRs.Dear mummies

Phase 2C is not first-come-first-served. You do not need to queue. Just go during the stated operating hours. -
desperatemummy:
Last year was the first year GESPS conducted balloting for SCs during P2C. Prior to that, GESPS had vacancies in P2CS. So, it is better for you to monitor the situation. When it comes to priority, even SCs staying beyond 2 km will get in first before PRs staying within 1 km are considered.Dear mummies

cherrymum and qms thanks so much for ur response.
mummies that planning to register your kids for APS the new school, can I know where do you plan to have your afterschool care? -
Hi desperatemummy & other mommies,
I'm also a PR & confused :?: whether I should apply for Alexandra Primary School or River Valley Primary School.
But when I look at the rate of RV it's more than 50% the seats are taken.
I have to wait for phase 2c & being a full time working mother, AP is closer to my place.
I went into AP website & found out the school hour is quite long.
Is this common for all primary 1?
Please advice.
Many thanks

Hippo mommy:
Go for APS. But still need to monitor. APS has a high profile V and VP, so I'm no surprised if the take up rate is high.Hi desperatemummy & other mommies,
