He will be taken care by my mum and the school where we like to register in within 1km (from my mum place), will I get a place there for Phase 2C?

Which school? Northland Pri?

If you are going by the caregiver route, you will be in the 1-2 km category, even if your mother's home is located right next to the school.

Based on historical numbers, balloting was conducted only for those within the 1 km category. Hence, assuming the future is similar to the past, it means you will not even get the chance to participate in the balloting.

If i apply for a school way off my home address >2km. But the school is not popular, i shouldnt have any problem getting a placement right?

It depends on the estate. If it is a populated and developed estate with very few Pri Schools, there may be ballot.

I have heard of unpopular neighbourhood schools conducting balloting in Phase 2C.

Huge dilemma then...i know my chance of getting into NHPS is v v slim based on past years phase 2C. Thought if i apply for a school near my workplace might help. For parents without PV, with any associations to earlier phases, it is almost impossible to get into anywhere perceive as good school?

MOE website will mention...but heard target is 2016 don't know how true...so best to check with MOE website when due for P1 registration.
