I remembered buying this set for my DS many years ago and the tiles ended up as his \"cooking\" ingredients and still are (you can almost hear the tiles clanging sound each time he cooks his zhi char away) 😢

On the positive front - these tiles are really lasting 😄

PS: At times ended up as railway tracks as well.

I got this few months ago at Kiddy Palace at Tampines. For those interested to get a set, can try getting from there..
Thanks for the juice, maltbibi! 😉

            Really? :?

I don't have that problem at all.

Or mebbe, they haven't thought of it... yet?

Or perhaps the fact that it is not kept within their reach,
to allow other forms of imagination; other than for the
intended one, to come to life.

              Hi,

You may refer to this website for great print out to teach pre-schoolers basic concepts. Here are some samples.

                  Hi

I’m looking for a concise math program for my boy since I’ll be going back to work soon. Use to plan my own lessons and materials but I hope to maximise the time I have with him. Thinking of Right Start Math. Anyone tried this before? Where can I buy this program? Many thanks.

Heyya sweetbaby, i don't recall where i've seen this sold

as an all inclusive set within S'pore but you can purchase
Right Start Maths products online at this link > http://activitiesforlearning.com/levela.aspx

If you dun mind getting them separately, Growing Fun has
the Math Balance, Tangrams and clock... the wooden cubes
and tiles can get from Daiso... the tally sticks from Popular,
the base ten cards and place value cards can make your own,
and if you want the solid cubes, ten bars and unit cubes... you
can also purchase them from either Montessori stores, Growing
Fun stores and Early Learning Centre stores. This programme
promotes hands-on/concrete Math similar to Montessori Math..

Since you're planning to homeschool, you can just get the manuals
for Right Start Math (since you particularly liked this curriculum) and
prepare the the bulk of the teaching/learning materials yourself for
cost-efficient reasons if you have the time for it, that is...

If you're keen on purchasing similar concrete Math items, the Motherhood
forum has mommies selling the Family Value Pack from overseas. The
only doubt i have is the quality of the wooden pieces from some of the
manufacturers. Some not so good manufacturers actually package these
items without ensuring that the wood is nicely papered down smooth and
varnished so there tend to be wooden splinter surfaces that one needs to
check prior to child handling. Just my two cents.
