2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take

The Little Cheng Mommy:
Based on feedbacks and past history of PSLE, they are one of the good ones in Tampines and across Singapore, I guess above average. But you are right, CCA's are limited. I have applied for PV last Feb but was unsuccessful as there were 60 applications vs. 20 PV slots.Hi, jennyfrmdblock. May I know why did you choose Gongshang Pri for your child? Is it a good school? The school compound is rather small and the CCA options are still the same as last time. I don't understand why it's popular in Tampines.
Ironically, I was an ex-student of this primary school. But I've shifted tooooooooo far away that it seems unreasonable to send my children there unless I shift to Tampines. However, if we shift, then we will be way toooooo far from my in laws, parents and my hubby's work place.
The P1 registration system brings much stress to parents. :stupid:
My house is within 1km from White Sands Primary in Pasir Ris. This is my other option aside from Gongshang. But I am not very familiar with the mix of students there. Hence I am checking if someone can give feedback. I'll check on the WS thread for input.
P1 registration is worst than the stress in giving birth to my son. LOL -

Thanks for your suggestion
Hi,jennyfrmdblock:
Hi!!! I am newbie to this forum and would like to join as an official KS mom. My son is born in 2008 and we are Singapore PR from Tampines. I have applied as PV in Gongshang but was not successful.
I stay within 1km of White Sands Primary School in Pasir Ris and have been accepted as PV. I am also KS like many since I am not a citizen and I know my queue number is after citizens have secured their place first. Hence, I PV even I stay within 1km hoping for higher chance to get in under Ph2B.
My question might be sensitive to some but I would still like to check how's the environment for those who is familiar with WS as well the ratio of Chinese students vs. Malays. Is it true there are a lot of Malays in WS than Chinese students?
Thanks in advance.

Btw, on Gongshang what I've heard is that it's preferred to Poi Ching in the area, though Poi ching seems to be better academically. not sure why... something abt the teachers and the way the sch is run perhaps... -

Hello Weyw,rainn_77:
Dear parents,
Does anyone knows when will all the primary school be converted to morning session? The school that I hope to enroll my ds is Gongshang Primary which is now operating in double session...
MOE website will mention...but heard target is 2016 don't know how true...so best to check with MOE website when due for P1 registration.
Many thanks for your reply. Really hope that all the school can change to morning session as my ds is an early riser and I will need to arrange for the care takers' part which can b quite tedious... Hai! Headache! -
Hello rainn_77,
Double session to single session will also mean that there is a very high potential the school will cut down on the P1 intake - they might not hve so many classes to accommodate the students for the change. Would ur chances of enrollment be impacted if that happens? -
