Dear parents
I’ve just joined this forum as my son has just started his P1 this year. I realised there’s this SRT coming up sometime in January. Appreciate if you can share with me what this test is all about and its objective.
cheers

Silent Reading Time?
SRT = School Readiness Test
My guess is it is a test or series of tests to grade the P1 students so as to find out who are the better ones?
Hope to find out more from the 'old birds' here... thanks... -
Umm… My sons have never taken the tests before. So, can’t comment here.

yup i have not heard of this SRT too. I believe the school will write a notification letter to inform the parents in due course. why dun you call your son’s FT to check?

Hi, I think our kids all went thru it. It’s just that I didn’t know what they call it. No consent taken. Parents not told. My 2 kids P6 and P4 had some tests on Eng and ??Maths I think. No need to prepare. It is to pick up the kids who have problem with basic skills. Those students would then need to attend extra remedial lessons to catch up.

Thanks ksmama. Yeah, I won't be asking my son to prepare for anything. It is better to see how he fares and if he needs to go for remedial lessons so be it.
