SMPS all 58 applicants are in. No need to ballot.

Most applicants are > 2km according to school.

      Therefore, total vacancies for Phase 2C is 9 roll over from 2B + 66 = 75.

Good luck to me in Phase 2C.

The principal should be firm enough to stop him and relate the matter to MOE. No one is above the law.

Giving in to him will only cause unhappiness to the rest of the 47 pair of parents, hence more problem arises.

Really? Oh dear! I thought I could start celebrating tonight. Would the school be able to make any discretionary decision to take all 48 kids in, since they were so kind to allow the latecomer to register? I can’t imagine the devastation of the parents of the only kid being left out after this Friday’s balloting. I sure hope it won’t be me!

Well I was at ASCJ watching the entire drama unfold and I think this guy is within the law as in, he submitted his application just before the 4.30pm deadline. Unfortunately for all the parents within 1 KM in P2B, there will now be a ballot for this category since there are 48 registrants to 47 vacancies. So all registrants outside of 1KM of ACSJ will have NO chance at all.

Well there are 46 places left in P2C to hope for now in ACSJ.

I guess MOE should be clearer whether application need only be submitted by 430 or processed by 430 pm. As well that its a consistent practice by all schools. I hope this particular parent had a good reason in doing so and not just weighing his best option/school up to the last minute. Wish all the parents balloting, all the best. I can just imagine the chaos in phase 2C if several parents show up at the nick of time. The horror... Yikes...

For ACJS, there are 48 applicants within 1 km but only 47 vacancies in Phase 2B.

Not sure if 48 applicants include twin boys. If twins are included and have only 1 ballot slip, then 47 and not 48 ballot slips will be drawn.

Appears odd to put in 47 slips for 48 applicants to ballot for 47 vacancies. How is ballot conducted?

                        Should there even be balloting?

Can principal exercise discretion to admit all 48 if and since the 48 include twins?
