Frankly, the only thing that deter me from sending my boy to mainstream primary is the bullying and teasing. I still have 2 years to think about it.

I wonder if is possible to register the kid in Pathlight and at the same time also register him at mainstream so that we can decide later. But I guess that will be unfair to those who are on the wait list.

Nothing is impossible. That's something that I have learnt as a parent to a ASD child, and we just have to learn to adapt along the way.

Thanks. I can't help but worry. But at the same time, I am preping him as much as I can, doing the best I could. The rest is really up to him already. Recently there are some negative feedbacks from his EIPIC teachers. Hence I worry even more.

My mind just cant stop worrying about him. :xedfingers:

I hope I wont glue myself to the front gate on the first day of school. Lol.

Thanks double E. Yes I am quite excited and looking forward to it. But still apprehensive to a certain extent cos I am worried about her adaptive skills.

You can apply to mainstream primary school and at the same time apply for pathlight. That's what we have been told by MOE n EIPIC. You can then make a decision when you get an outcome from pathlight.

nugget, there is only 1 assessment and its done in group setting, about 8 children in one group. I don't know what was done during the assessment, but my doter told me that she did reading, worksheets and games. No fees.

The assessment was done in June, and school told us that we will get an outcome before end of July. They were true to their word, results have just been released.

Thanks ArielMermaid, nugget for your feedback. My son is going to P1 next year and it is a difficult decision between mainstream and Pathlight. He is currently attending a mainstream kindergarten and has been there since 3 yrs old. He has been coping well so far and also no major complaints from the teachers - also the children at his pre-school are all very nice children. But the transition to primary one is a major change so I am worried whether he can adapt well to the mainstream environment. He is quite weak in expressive himself. So bullying is a major concern too.
