We prefer Creative has it has a feature which can find cheng yu in a faster way.
That is interesting. Will look at the brochure again. Thanks. -
wow…so many posts today
Hi vlim,
The Creative sounds good with HYPY. But does the dictionary give the explanation of the cheng yu? It will be good for my girl who is in P4 as she is able to use some simple cheng yu. Sometimes I am afraid she might use the cheng yu wrongly. If there is explanation that will be good.
Hi Grande,
It is cheaper to buy from school at $35 because Popular is selling at $39.90. -

Tks ! My girl is in 3E and Chinese class is CL5. Yes yes, I'm also asking her to read the compo books but she refused...sigh....she only wants to read English books.:welcome: It's good to know that we've another P3 parent here. Currently Jsmum and myself have kids in P3. Jsmum is more experienced as she has another child in P4.
Which class is your child in? My girl is in 3C, a boy in P2 and youngest is K1 this year.
At jsmum's recommendation last year, i actually bought besta. So far, both the P2 and P3 find it easy to use. I can't remember what is the price they are selling at in Popular. Wondering if it will be cheaper to buy besta from popular with discount card or $35 quoted is actually a good price. :?
Chinese expression is a challenge for us too. I am trying to get her to read those compo books \"leisurely\" and also try to memorise key phases. But there is so much things to be done so we've not been very discipline in doing that.
Tks for the recommendation on Besta. I saw that they have the Bi Shun function which attracts me the most. But vlim mentioned about Creative's function on finding Cheng Yu....hmmm...seems like I have to get both liao cos 各有千秋 -

haaaaa....welcome to the kiasu club :lol:Ok, I am going to get both !!
Tks for all the info !!
but I would advise the kid to concentrate more on one so that they will be familiar with it when coming to exam..(my personal opinion).. -
Hi grande,
You sound familiar. Do you have a K1 son this year? I know a mummy whose daughter in 3E too. I have also PM you. -

I've also PM you. I think you sound familiar too !! Is your P3 in class 3D ? -
I will get the Creative dictionary for myself!! I will be happy if my kid can use 1 cheng yu in a compo. Up to date my P3 boy knows nothing about cheng yu.
Besta model is easy to use. My boy is starting to use it by himself on the 2nd day. However better not be too dependent on the dictionary because written expression during exams is only 50 minutes. My kids told me some of their classmates are using Besta models while few are using bigger ones (perhaps the more expensive model?). I refrain from buying those more expensive ones. Afterall they are only in P3 and they are likely to loose things easily. The salegirl kept asking me to buy the $600+ model (that can practise oral exams). It is out of my budget. Wonder if really any parents will buy it?
