Can anyone advise what are MSH niche sports? Are these taught by external coaches? If we have to pay for these, how much is it?

i believe badminton is one of the niche sports.....

      badminton, wushu, table tennis.

unless selected for school team else must pay as they engaged external coaches, if I'm not wrong

Hey parents , may I know in Primary 1, Chinese spelling is in Han Yu Pin Ying or writing the character ? Is there any show and tell for both English and Chinese?

        Thank you very much

P1 tingxie is all words. But there are some small written assessments that require a good foundation in HYPY. There is show and tell for Eng and Chinese. Kids will bring a prop and talk about it.

They first start with HYPY for the first few Chinese spelling, then progress to Chinese character.

Nowadays, most schools have show and tell, as this is to instill confidence in presentation and ability to speak to a crowd.

In fact, some childcare and learning centres have these show and tell sessions regularly.

Hi …thank you for the feedback on tingxie, does it happen every week for both Chinese and English?

May I know for show and tell…its once every week?.. There are about 30 boys in a class thus it is conducted in random boys or all boys are pre assigned on the topics n days to present?

              Thanks

                Hello,

                Some quick questions:

                1. What do they call the Tuckshop these days? Tuckshop or Canteen or Cafe?

                2. Where can we buy those traditional student desks? The type where the top opens up and you can store your exercise books and stationery inside? Checked with IKEA and no stock for the foreseeable future and KSP Buy and Sell doesn’t have anything on this.

                3. For the Admin Day and Orientation Day, do we bring the child along?

                4. On taking the school bus, for <1km, will the child be picked up amongst the firsts or lasts? ie. more or less sleeping time for the child at home. Still trying to weigh the difference between taking the school bus and mummy taxi. For mummy taxi, what’s the drop off and pick up protocol at the school like? I understand that school starts at 7:10am.

                5. What’s the guidance on Pocket Money/Day at MSHP? Will $1 to $1.50 allowance/day be sufficient?

                6. Does the school restrict the child from carrying a non-smartphone (on silent mode) in his school bag? The cellphone will be particularly useful if DS needs to call home for whatever reason, eg. early or late pick up, nanny fails to show up etc.

Any advise welcomed and tks in advance.

I give my elder DS only $1 per day, as he will buy other unnecessary stuff with his extra money.

Just want to drop in to say "Hello" as we have just got a placing for Pri 1 next year.

Hoping to be more active in the school in the near future.
