      MMM, pls share some tips.

How many uniform and PE t-shirt to buy?
      Canteen got what food?
How much pocket money to give?
Need to buy extra enrichment book anot.
What time does sch start and end?
      Hi kittykit,

      Congratulations.

I can't remember about P1. But for my P2, they have 2 days of PE. So she has 3 dresses and 2 set of PE attire.

Food in canteen as per the kids are, chicken rice, noodles, mixed rice stall, fried rice, vegetarian stall, cheese tofu, mashed potatoes, waffle, drink stall, snacks, etc...

We give my P2 $2 on a daily basis. If she has CCA, we will give her $4-$5.

School hours is from 12.20pm to 6.20pm.

For enrichment books, just follow the booklist provided by the school. However, if you are talking about assessment books, that is subjective. I am not a good example but my kids have enrichment classes for all subjects.

But compared to my P5 and P6 era, I think the P1 and P2 is really honeymoon period nowadays. But the assessment scope has changed. Eg. the kids nowadays have to do show & tell for EL and CL infront of the entire class and they are assessed based on that.

          Hi KittyKit,

My dd is currently in P1. She wears PE attire on Tuesday and Friday.

We brought her 3 set of dressess and 2 set of PE attires last year. With regards to the school enrichment books, I got her all the mandatory textbooks including the optional English recommended textbook provided in the school booklist. Besides, I also get her 1 English and 1 Chinese dictionary for her to self-help when required.

I give my dd $1 daily and there is always remaining as my mum will pack her lunch box with rice or bread. She only spend every Tuesday when she goes to school early for her CCA.

Regarding on whether to get extra assessment book or not, it will be better if you monitor the progress of your child and get them only when necessary. I understand from the teacher that school will provide remedial class for those P1 students under the LSP (Learning Support Program) who need extra guidance to catch up with their peers due to the different teaching in their previous pre-school.

If I remember correctly. During Orientation day, you can register with the school bus services provider and make arrangement for child's transport. On the same day, you should be able to purchase your child's school uniform and text books.

16 Oct 2013 could be this year's Orientation date for next year's P1. You should be receiving a letter from the school soon if you have just get a place for your child under 2C. In the letter, you will be informed on the Orientation date and time.

                    16 Oct?

My son was enrolled under Phase 2A and the letter stated 16 Oct, which was to go to school to do administrative things like filling up forms for school fees, buy uniforms, arrange school bus transport, etc. I read from another post that was posted earlier that there would be another orientation for the kids at a later date, so for this one, don't need to bring your child unless you intend to buy the uniforms.

I'm assuming that the orientation date on 16 Oct is same for all phases, unless they can get the different operators to make multiple trips to school.
