Jennifer:
As expected my boy did not enjoy the mass dance (think he takes after me- poorly coordinated for dance) :lol:noob:
Today's games were more fun, except for the mass dance session.
My dd commented that the seniors are very helpful and friendly, easy to communicate and fun loving. I believe NJC will bring our kids to a greater height.
The students wld be missing the originally scheduled French lesson tmr. Though a teacher announced that NJC will be submitting an excuse chit, do we have to arrange for make-up lessons on our own?
I called the school this morning and they say those attending 3rd lang will need to attend 3rd lang tomorrow, and dont need to go Sentosa, and also dont need to go school tomorrow. Seems there is new developments. -

Or look next to NYGH ...

Don't forget .... njc students are not paying fees like hci and nygh - they are independent schools - u know?
But the collection of fees by Independent schools from parents alone sure not enough to do such major renovation works lah.
I think some rich VIPs must have donated money lah .... -
Just Mama:
The PAACT said they do organize function like \" Have breakfast with the Principal\". Maybe you should attend.
Yes, those were little hiccups. But stay positive ....VitoRelax:

I can understand your frustration, especially so when you have appealed for your child to get into NJC. But I hope that you do not let your frustrations and negative moods affect the enthusiasm of your child in the school.
Do stay positive and maybe ,you can try giving constructive feedback to the school admin or the parents' support group. I'm sure there's a positive platform to air your frustrations.

But I cannot help comparing with the publicity blitz that our S'pore Zoo once promoted, ie \"Have breakfast with Ah Meng !!\"   :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
hahahahaha!!!! was having same thought too!!! :)
How can we buy the tickets to have breakfast with the Principal ?
-
phankao:
No siao lah, you think Apek & AhUhmm cannot dance meh ?
siao, you think we in pri sch ah?VitoRelax:
They should have one mass dance for parents too ...

Why must in Pri School only can dance ? You never see those old man & ladies do line dancing & shopping centres meh ?
-
phankao:
The talk about replacing old blood with new blood. Some programmes that they run, trips to Myanmar & Vietnam totally organized by the kids but parents only acted as mentor.
so you joined PAACT? What did they cover? I left after 11.45am
Also encouraged you to join the Gavel club & debating club.
And the best I could remember is \"Having breakfast with Principal\". This one can't help laughing with the \"Having breakfast with Ah Meng\" campaign by the S'pore Zoo. Hahahaa
Then break for lunch after that I left liao -

I didn't have much problems with Bibi/Baba either. I think those parents who's children appealed in after the reporting day have much greater problems bc the rest of us bought up most of the stock already.
Actually I thought Bibi & Baba not to bad. PE attire I also manage to get. The problem this year is the Polo TShirt.VitoRelax:
Frankly, we had exactly the same problem with the PE attires and Bibi-Baba last year. I thought the school would have learnt a lesson from last year's delays. :stupid:
I notice that BiBi/Baba handles the uniforms for many schools, including all the big names like ACS, MGS, CHS, etc, etc. I doubt the school handles their *inventory/sizing availiability management*, right? So the problem lies with Bibi/Baba. And if no uniform, too bad, just have to go without uniform. Gee, I heard that some really \"ks parents\" who knew that their child (based on score/dsa) surely will get into NJC and went during the holidays to buy from the vendors already!!!! Wah, if only I had the foresight to do before reporting day! :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
Tee-shirts generally would not be from the same Vendor since usually a supplier that does what are known as \"woven material\" apparel would not at the same time handle \"knit\"(t-shirt) material clothes. But yeah, they should let us know the vendors for the PE attire & Polo so we don't have to go only to the school to buy.
Should have terminate this Polo TShirt vendor. But then again, overheard some conversation that the design of Polo TShirt is gonna change, meaning a new design is coming out. Dunno if it is true ??? -

All upgrading works will have to follow queue in the MOE list, I suppose !!
I think the very reason is that NJC's buildings/rebuilding is managed by MOE itself, while that of HCI & NYGH are privately handled by their individual school boards themselves bc they are independent! Big difference hor.verykiasu2010:
NJC is supposed to be a premier school, but the NEW buildings really need touching up. HCI is older but does not look so bad. If MOE can build NYGH and RGPS with that level of quality, why not NJC ?
It looks like MOE made what can be considered as a financial decision by *selling* the better piece of land to NYGH and taking the less-favourable piece of land for their own government-run school (NJC, lah!). Bc can make more money from that piece of land sold to nygh, right?
Maybe HCI & NYGH got rich ex student who donate lots of money for upgrading works ...
Hopefully some rich ex NJCian will donate some money to NJC .... -
