For those staying within 1km, with this kind statistics, would you still consider NHPS? I am contemplating not to..v stressful...

It depends on your appetite for risk. If you cannot tahan your kid going to one of the schools with places at Phase 2C Supp, then it may be safer to choose your 2nd choice. For those who don't mind their last choice, then these are the ones who will throw their chips in and ballot for a popular school like NHPS.

In the case I ended up in Phase 2CS, the schools with vacancies would be more than 2KM and would require balloting. Is it worth going for still? What are the other schools around Clementi that are not popular and not taken up at phase 2CS?

          Hi,

I’ve a son who will be in P1 in 2015. Initially wanted to put in Horizon or Punggol View as I live in Punggol and I plan to put him in after sch care. But seeing how popular these 2 schs are, I’m thinking of registering him under Phase 2A2 or Phase 2B. Now left with 2 choices:

          1) Rosyth under Phase 2A2 as Daddy is ex-student. Is it confirmed he can get in under this phase, or must Daddy register as alumni? Think miss the deadline for alumni reg already.
          2) Holy Innocents under Phase 2B as we’re Catholics. If so, will use my IL’s address as they live within 2km of the place. So far, no balloting for <2km in Phase 2B.

I prefer 2) as it’s in between my house and my IL’s place. 1) is a bit too far and it takes about 1/2 hour to drive to sch. I want my son to be able to sleep longer. The only drawback is 2) is still having AM/PM session by 2015. Think they will only be single session by 2016/7.

          Need some advice:

Should I register for Rosyth in Phase 2A2, then withdraw to register in Phase 2B just to be extra safe? I’m worried next year may need to ballot in Phase 2B for <2km.

            Hi,

I'm new here. Just wondering if daddy's pri school has merged with the existing pri school years ago. Can the child consider under Phase 2A2 for the registration if I register her to that existing pri school?

Yes you can. You have to find out which existing school his old school has merged into. Bring his old report book there.

            Thank u so much :salute:

              Hi all,

I missed the PV route too and deeply regretted my passiveness which cause my DD and DS (younger) to join a school of their choice.

Does Phase 2C suppl also requires balloting? or will MOE do the allocating under Phase 2C suppl?

I'll stick to option 1. If my kid can't be made to wake up 1/2 hr earlier, I think I'll have much bigger problems to worry about.

That being said, if you fancy option 2, do leave a note... I'm sure a lot of parents eyeing Rosyth in Phase2B will happily thank you for it.

There will be balloting should demand exceeds supply.

                      Hi Floppy,

I value more rest for the child. As it is, he’s having problems waking up now for school and we’re late almost everyday. As we’re working parents, it’s hard to give the kids an early bed time. Neighbourhood sch would have been ideal but due to the crapiness of this entire sch system, I’m now forced to go for Rosyth or HIPS to get into a decent sch. Now I’m wondering what’s the best way to get into HIPS since I only qualify for Phase 2B.

What’s the cut off time to withdraw application in Rosyth and apply for HIPS? I will need one parent at each school to effect this right?

You need to withdraw from Rosyth and register with HIPS by the last day of P2B registration.
