Hi MMM and jsmum,
Is it the child can drop out of the CCA after a year or a few months and do not have to stick to it till he is P6? My P1 boy has been telling me these 2 days (when he comes home) that he wants to join Chinese Dance.
Thanks in advance for advice. -
I think it’s fine to drop out after a year. I am not sure about few months. But with valid reasons, I think it should be fine.
For lower primary, I don’t think it’s compulsory for them to do CCA. So they are probably not that strict??? In my case, my P1 did wushu last year and teacher asked him to go this year. We wanted to stop him. He told teacher he is not going any more and they asked for a letter… which I’ve yet to write. Will send the teacher in charge a email at most. -
My P1 also want to join Wushu but think the recruitment for new members have not started. Could you share why you wanted your P1 to stop Wushu? Is it because he has other CCAs?
-
We are stopping him because :
1) we are hoping that he joins the band this year
2) as he is a member of activa club, we thought another sport will be more suitable
3) No offence to those who take wushu. Hubby feels that with wushu, he might progress to dragon/ lion dance etc... which is a BIG NO NO. Probably some stereotype here  -
jsmum, I went to the website liao and click under Contact Us / Staff Contacts, it says got to login to Moodle, rite ?
MMM, wow 1.30pm to 4.30pm and from mid Aug still need to go on Sat morning ??
I will ask my girl to reconsider -
Yes... actually heard that band seems to take up alot of time. So I am limiting her to 1 CCA only. Not sure if compulsory to take more than 1 subsequently.... :?
I suppose if she is interested, she will be motivated to cope with it.
Just doing a timetable for my P3.... wow it seems packed with the need to stay back in school thrice a week. The remaining days are for tuition/ piano/ etc.... Suddenly feel that her schedule is so packed. -

Yes, you need to log in. Use the same username and password that you have used last year. Any problems let me know. I just tried log in was ok. -
MMM, I wanted him to join wushu more for the disclipine bit. Nothing more than that actually. But hubby more keen to ask him to join band since hubby was in the school band for all his life during school days.
jsmum, where do we get the login ID and password? Is it the school will issue it to the P1s? -
Does the school organise any form of ‘open house’ for the CCAs? We were given a form for Chinese dance, 1 day before the CCA starts for the term. I felt this is too rush.
-
Yes, they will issue the ID and password to login into moodle along the way.
The kids will need to access moodle to do their holiday homework.
So far, there is no open house for CCAs.
