i read about the shine program for lower primary. did ur children join, do they get to choose n on which day is it held? thanks

Shine program - You do not need to choose but its content change every term. Swimming will definitely happen in one of the term. One good info which I was searching a few years back was, the swimming is always part of the Shine program till at least P3.


So far, swimming class is conducted in Tampines Public Swimming Pool and a teacher in charge will be assigned to take care of the pupils. Coach is from external.

My dd will also join junyuan for P1in 2014. May I know is there a lot of homework, spelling, mini test & etc? Anu students care centre nearby? Thanks.

I \"went through\" P1 2011 and P1 2012 ... So please be assure that there is not much homework, so for the transition from K to Primary it is smooth and healthy.

Spelling schedule are well plan and given to the child early of the term, the child will ask you to sign, so for parent, you can help your little ones to \"learn to track\".

Mini tests, I think there are, but that is for teacher to check the child progress.

There is No Exam for P1.

So please take the opportunity to enjoy with your gg for her new experiences - bigger school, more pupils....early next year. focus to get her to like going to school and enjoy going to school.

thanks for e reply, i am attracted to their shine program when i did research on this sch. maybe i can find out more during nov’s orientation so that i know what are e days involved, easier to plan other enrichments nxt year.

:siam: Yes, they will share alot during that orientation. For P1 I think it will still happen on Mon afternoon ( i think i missed out this info in last reply)

thanks…yah assuming they are sticking to e same schedule for p1 nxt year as i saw the sch hours is from 730-330 on mon n e sch admin told me it’s due to e shine program.
