Bryan:
agree fully here...I agree that it is important to feedback, but I think it is important to understand the context.
I think the school has a system whereby they allow the senior students to organise activities for the juniors. I think these are valuable leadership and organisational opportunities ...
my JH1 girl woke up this morning after the week of fun and games, now browsing KSP forum together with me after b'fast.
yes, there were things that could have been better; T-shirt sizes, polo-T, etc...
for which my girl responded with a \"har?\"
my sincere thanks to all the OGLs for the great work.
:congrats: -
SaPan:
Yes thanks to the games organized the these OGLs, the JH1 now formed bond with their respective OG. Kudos to them !!

How many in your OG happen to be in the same class with you ? -
Jennifer:
Don't worry lah. The girls recognize the boys in NJC are all intelligent kids.
One reason why my boy did not take to the idea of an all boys' sch was that boys are rowdy. He thought with girls around in a co-ed setting, the boys will restraint a bit on their behaviour.
Now that boys are seriously outnumbered in JH, I am afraid the boys will hv less chances to speak up. Nevertheless, I have advised my boy to stand firm on his grounds and not be afraid to speak up.
Pray girls in his class are not too loud or self-opinionated.
I think it is just the friendly banter between boys & girls during games. I think during class, the girls wouldn't be so loud, bah ? Hahaha
Also, don't think the girl's behaviour in NJC will be that unrestraint, right ?

Jennifer:
Agreed Jennifer, the admin staff are professionals whereas the OGLs are apprentice, learning the trade in organisation. I think the OGLs did a good job, lets give them a big round of applause. perhaps the profs need to \"unlearn\" and \"relearn\", thats what the buzz word of the govt nowadays....
My issues are purely administrative in which the adults in NJC admin should hv done properly.Bryan:

I believe the OGLs have taken precious time and efforts to organise the orientation activities. And I am thankful for this.

Yes
to the OGLs
Btw, you know how to have breakfast with the Principal ?
Thanks -

That's what the school said on day 1. And all the students know it's bc of the learning style profiling that they did earlier in the week. The OGLs also said that, leh. How come your girl's OGL say differently?
No lah, the learning style survey has no bearing on the allocation of class.
My girl told me the OGL said the selection is basically random. My guess is that they only make sure only 2 to 3 student from the same OG goto the same class. They also make sure the ratio of boys to girls are about the same in every class. And also try to make sure that all class has a mixture of different background, different race, different school (mixture of elite pri school & neighbourhood school). -

This is 1 of the example that I think NJC can be improved upon. The information flow is not synchrinised. The other confusion is the 3rd language class. Some said they are being excused and other said they ought to attend??
I fully agreed the OGL has a good training and learning in the process of organising the orientation program. I will certain encourage my son to get involve in the future. -

Got meh ? Who said one ? The Principal ?
That's what the school said on day 1.
Jialat, I must be zzzZZZ :snooze: again. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
I only remember the Principal saying that: \"... there are all walks of life of people coming into NJC and it is good for the students to experience people of different profile ...\" or something like that.

Juz asked my girl, she said that the OGL said that based on her OGL's time. Anyway, her OGL is already in SH2.
Hypothetically, if the girls want to be in the same class, they could pakat & fill up the same answers in the survery form & they will be in the same class.
Another hypothetical question. Since we know that there are much fewer boys than girls. So, if 25 boys have the same answers to the survey form, will they put all the 25 boys into one same class ? :
