CONGRATULATIONS!!!
-
Thank u thank u!
-
DD got a confirmed offer under Visual Art!!! Yay!!!
-
DS received CO for visual arts
He also have a confirmed offer from NJC, which has the AEP program (still have to go through selection test).
DS is interested in science but and good in doodling and have good observation skills, I guess SOTA saw the potential in him since he's never attended professional art lessons, except taking Chinese painting at the CC with the aunties.
During the SOTA open house, we asked the teachers difference between AEP and SOTA's approach and they said that AEP focuses too much on competition and not letting the students explore enough. Is that true? Also my friend who's an experienced art teacher in one of the JC mentioned that SOTA's VA instructors are the artist type and not as well trained in pedology as art teachers in mainstream schools. I guess there's good and bad about that.
I'm not sure what DS would like to be when he grows up, but personally I like the IB program.
Any advice from experienced parents? Does your DC or yourself know of kids who have to chose between a school with AEP and SOTA? -
I also got acceptance letter to Sota! (I actually screamed then broke down crying -_-) I hope everyone else gets good results for the dsa. It really is a great feeling when you get an acceptance letter to a school you've be pining to go.

But my mom has some questions about the school, thank you for answering my questions
1.What are the school rules?
This is a vague Q. What rules do you want to know exactly?
2.how are the teachers there like?
They are just like any other teachers in school. They are nice if you do your work.
3.Is it true that before the students various art froms start they have a one hour break and they are allowed to leave the school compound and come back?:)
I'm not sure if it applies to all yrs. According to security, school officially ends at 1.15pm most weekdays and they are allowed to sign out to go for lunch.
4:How stressful is life at sota like?
It really depends on how well you manage your time. Pls do not expect to be in wonderland all the time. You'll find it less stressful if you are consistently working hard from the start.
5:I heard some people there are mostly \"Rich\" so im a little worried they might look down on me for being just middle class
Your thoughts are unfounded, just be friendly and be yourself.
Lastly,thank you

Thank you for answering my questions, when i asked about the school rules i meant that is SOTA quite strict? As i heard from some of my friends whom studies there that the new principal is stricter and imposed some new rules
