lego course for kids
No problem, Happy Mama. DS attended a course during the dec hols. 8 sessions (each 2 hrs) at $200. Fees includes materials that they need but kids are not allowed to bring anything back (that is, they learn the skills but dont bring back any completed models).
Ooh, thank you so much MyBaby. Coronation is much more convenient for me.
I am not familiar with robotics but DS looks forward to every of his lesson and would happily be telling me what he had done.
Hope your child will enjoy it too!Happy Mama:
There is also a robotics school in Coronation Plaza.

Hi all,
Lego can be a good tool to establish bonding with you little one. I've a daughter of 6 yr old and son of 9 yr old. My son started playing lego around 5. It can be quite exciting for the kids to see what kind of interesting shape or 'animal' that their dad or mum can build and that inspire them to build more. javascript:emoticon(':D')
But most important of all, it is the process of building that i had a lot of fun with my kids. Doesn't have to be something complex as it might turn them off. As we are building those bricks, we chat about their school, their friends etc which is what we would not do during the rest of the day. (they will be busy running about or doing their own stuff )javascript:emoticon('
')
Also, we don't buy a lot of toys for them, only on special occasion. For example, my son wanted a toy plane and we told him he will only get it this Christmas. And guess what, he will dig into his lego and start building his own plane, not only one but a range of diff color and shape....

Lego is a good toy. It continue to be relevant and interesting for kids up to upper primary. Even adults like me enjoy building things out of it.

Is there enrichment centre using lego as primary teaching tool? I understand in the US there is.

Hi,
May I check where can I send my child (K2) to the robotic courses? -
Any review on Bricks 4 kidz? New branch at Hougang Kovan. 3rd branch in Singapore. Not sure if worth sending 8 & 6yo for hol camp
-
I signed up for the trial class at Bricks for Kids at Kovan. Teacher is great and able to keep the kids engaged. I went for the 1 hour normal lesson and the theme for that day was "Conveyor Belt". Beside lesson, they also offered camps, i.e. 3-4 days, 3 hours per session.
