home delivery and purchase from push cart, same quality?

      sorry, P6 already still noob.
i have not bought papers before...always take from internet free - got one time share with some one la - that was in P1. ๐Ÿ˜‰
and print small small font to save ink and paper.
last year already, should consider giving him a good purchased set. ๐Ÿ˜“
Actually, I've been printing directly from the net all this while as well. But for P6, I bought it from those shops in the neighbourhood as I couldn't find any 2012 papers online at that point.

I have been following this thread closely though seldom post (I suspect posting made me even more stress/nervous :P)

But can't resist myself now... got a nagging qns, would like to hear some views/opinions.

Read that some of your DC shows the desire to do well... my DS has never shown any desire to do well.... ๐Ÿ˜ข .... how???

He is not doing very well since P5 (hoping that miracles happen) but whenever we talked to him, he doesn't shows any emotions/desire/enthusiasm etc... just poker face all the way. So I really can't tell what he is thinking.

Maybe he has the desire to do better but he is not showing. And he will still take time to relax, watch TV... so it kinda drives me up the wall abit at times.

When asked which school he aims to go to, either dunno or anyhow shoot an answer that he thinks we want to hear, e.g. some top sch names, which sorry to say, I am quite confident he will NOT make it...haiz... Same when asked what marks he aim to get.

He has always been a nonchalant kid... good side is, he seems to be quite \"stress-free\", down side is... \"doesn't matter do well or not\"... so it kinda affect his performance.

I can't read him, but perhaps if anyone has experience to share?

Hi scaredymum, thats exactly the same problm I am facing w my dd! I used the same adjective to describe her - non chalant attittude. She has no motivation to do well & whn pple ask wat sch she wants to go, she says "its the end" (ITE). And now she talks bk whn I nag at her. I can only pray for a miracle to happen.

            Goodluck8:

It is very rare that a kid is unable to sit for psle. Even they are having chicken pox, they still need to take the exam, but not at school (stated in psle handbook).

I rather the school set a tougher paper. Then the kids will work hard for this three weeks, rather than give them a false hope that thay are good enough.

Discuss with some parents, they prefer tougher prelim paper as they dont want their DC to be panic when siting for the psle.

my personel view is, I prefer my DD told me that 'psle is easier than prelim', than 'psle is so tough'.
Thank you for sharing. All the best to your dd.

Hi, scaredymum n exhaustedmum. I followed this forum actively as ds also taking psle this year. But seldom post as feel most of the parents here have very intelligent kids. My ds also has the \"don't care\" attitude. Eg only managed to score 198 for prelim but still don't know how to write the word \"die\". I getting nightmare as psle draws near. Wonder who is taking the exam. :faint:

                Scaredymum, exhaustedmum & smum,

Have you tried a different approach to your kids such as talking to them in this manner:
"I know you want to do well in this major exam PSLE, and I am sure you will put in your effort in this. I also want to give you the support you need for this PSLE. Tell me, what can I do to help you / is there any area you think I can help / is there something you think you need help in / is the tuition or school able to provide you what you need / is there any uncertain areas or topics you want me to clarify?"

"I really care for you and your future as you know this PSLE is important to your next step. The prelims results is worrying. I just want to hear from you how are you preparing for this PSLE, and if there is any area I can help or provide support."

Sometimes it is good to let the kid knows you are worried because you care for them, and you are not there to reprimand them for not putting in effort, but rather to support them by providing help for their inadequacies.

Hope this can be of help to you.

Prelim papers are hardly easyโ€ฆbut donโ€™t get disheartened.

Choose selective papers and questions. You will see a certain โ€˜patternโ€™ and get exposed to questions phrased differently.

[quote=\"jedamum\"]my boy in P5, so next year beginning of year i should by 2013 past year papers?

is there a different set call 2013 prelims papers? are they different?
                    which to get?

                    thanks.

When you buy 2013 P6 papers next year, you will be able to find the prelim papers in there. Prelim papers sort of replaced the SA2.

                    oh thanks!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Your son will not have time to do it especially if your son is in his school's best class. I have some assessment books and exam papers for P6. PM me if you want, it is free.
