KTKLN for indo maid?
-
Hi,
I am planning to bring my maid to either Bintan/Batam/Bali. My maid’s KTKLN card already expired.
Is there a need to produce this card upon arrival and departure of the Indonesia custom? One of my friend told me that when the maid leave any Indonesia island, they need to produce this KTKLN card. Is it true?
Your advise is very much appreciated.
TIA -

They are supposed to produce this card at the Indonesian customs when exiting the country. Not required upon entering, but a valid card must be presented on exit. If your helper’s card has expired, it’s advisable not to bring her to Indonesia (1) if you intend to bring her back to Singapore, and (2) if you do not intend to renew the card for her.

Hi all,
In need of advises!
My maid of 3 months just told me that her KTKLN card is not with her. She said that the maid agency took it from her when she was send back to agency by her first employer.
In the first place, why must the maid agency take that card from her? She is supposed to keep the card right?
My maid has tried calling the agency and the one that took her card previously said she did not take anything from my maid.. Of course they won't admit right! Haiz....
Now, what if her KTKLN card is really missing, what must my maid do? Any fees needed to make a new card? Can she do it here in Singapore?
Really appreciate your advise! -

It is needed for them to \"KeLuar Negara\" (KLN) i.e. to be permited to leave the country (Indonesia).
The card is issued in Indonesia (unless there have been recent changes). -
If she does not have that card, meaning I can't bring her to Batam/Bintan for a holiday?

Hi, just to share from my recent experience.Hi,

My Indo maid just came back from home leave last month. This law to apply for KTKLN card has been around for few years but has not been strictly enforced till recently. I didn't even know about this card (my bad, didn't do my homework thoroughly before letting her go home).
My maid told me her friend was stopped at the airport (Yogyakarta) when couldn't produce the card. Well, some managed to exit the country after paying some 'fee' to the officer (you know what that mean...). Still there have been some who didn't successfully get past despite offering to pay 'the fee'.
Told my maid to do it the proper way and get the card. So she diligently went to apply for it. With all the proper documentations, the card can be issued on the same day.
There are some documentations required, refer to this blog to find out more - http://mynotzs.blogspot.sg/2012/11/overseas-workers-id-card-ktkln.html. One of the main documents is the contract between the employer and the maid, endorsed by the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. This is definitely something you have to prepare before leaving the country.
There is an office in Batam that can process KTKLN applications. But exactly where it is I'm not sure. If it helps, the address is:
P4TKI Batam
Komplek Ruko Green Land Blok E No. 3A Batam Center
Kepulauan Riau
Tel: (0788) 3154130
So to answer your doubt, yes it seems pretty risky for you to bring her to Batam for holiday if she doesn't have this card since she might be barred from leaving the country. Perhaps make plans for her to apply for the card while in Batam? All can go on holiday and be happy!

Hi all
Was reading through this thread and other blog post about this issue. I must say this KTKLN card, while has its own merits, I somehow think it’s more like a money collection scheme for the government. But i digress.
My maid’s card is expiring in December and luck would have it that we’re also planning a holiday to Bali in December. Her work permit expires in January. She wont be going back to Indonesia since she went back in May this year.
Now my only option is to bring her to Batam and have her card renewed (tbut this can only be done after her WP is renewed which means only 4-5 weeks before her contract expires). Anyone done this recently? I spoke to my agent and was told it cost ‘alot more’ than doing it in her own hometown (i’m assuming it’s because of undertable money).
One thing I’m not very clear about is, can she renew her card in Batam even tho her hometown is Bandung? I don’t think there’s a problem but when it comes to such authorities, anything goes.
Would anyone know the operating hours of the Batam office as well? Thanks in advance. -
Need urgent advises here!!
5 months ago we just got an Indo maid to take care of my aged father in law. To apply for different grant, my father in law has signed off as the Employer.
Last week, maid said has urgent matter to attend back home in Indo, so ask for home leave. Check with agent, they say they can help us with the Application of Home leave for a fee of S$70.
While thinking about whether to accept agent’s offer , we heard abt this KTKLN card. maid does not have the card. So when ask abt the card with the agency, they mention that they can help us with the application of Home leave and getting the contract agreement from Embassy for a fee of S$250.
Now the questions I have are:-
(1) Is it true that Application of Home leave cost S$50?
(2) How do we apply for home leave on our own? Is it easy to do so? What’s d procedure?
(3) The contract agreement at Embassy
(a) I thought its FREE? (from all the previous discussions I saw)
(b) As my fil is the Employer, does it mean that he has to be there physically with the maid to get the contact agreement? He is old and not convenient in walking (need to go toilet very often), can someone else goes on his behalf? eg my sister in law who is the sponsor??
Please help!! -
