Start of the holiday... woohoo! :boogie:
Just kidding
DS still has to go to school 3 days next week. -

Hi, my 2 olders kids are in P6 and P5 so lots of their pals have phones.MMM:
We sound like the exception here. .. So yes hoping that kids respect and view hp as a communication tool rather than an addiction.
Your girl is in P2? Perhaps too early to tell, cos at that age, no many of classmates would have a phone or tablet yet, so less likely for her to be drawn in yet. As for the boys, they usually keep to games, which I find not so dangerous. Yes, they get hooked in the games, but it is like a hobby. The socializing is the dangerous one, I feel.
For the P2, still earlier indeed. -
4 more weeks before the battle is over! Yay.

Well, I was mad at him so served him the ultimatum. He would on and off asked for the phone. I didn't yield. He understood why except it still took him about 2 weeks to accept it. Now, he's stopped asking as he knew and accepted he'd get it back only after the exams.
How does your ds react to it? Was he mad at you? Guess we need to act on it tonight.clay569:
We took away DS phone abt a month back. The whatapps group messages are hundreds a day so he kept checking his phone. And once he started, he could not stop. We gave many chances and he could not control the usage so we took it away. Since then, there's so much peace at home and he is focusing on his work so much better. -

the excuse she gave us was she is using the dictionary function of the iphone, which is faster and easier than conventional dictionary. -

Same lo.. So I pass him my iPad  otherwise use the electronic dictionary. Sometimes I'll insist he uses the traditional dictionary..just few seconds more only mah, I said.clay569:

He also gave excuses like need to check homework, what to bring and other work-related stuff. To me, those are things already discussed in Sch and it's his responsibility to take note, otherwise he'll just have to face the music the next day. -

Planning to do serious revision this holiday... any advice on how to revise effectively?
i feel there should be a balance of fun and work...
since most students have to return to schools for supplementary lessons during the first few days, the last two days should consist of rest and relaxation...
for study plan, it really depends on your objectives...
are you planning to work on questions which were answered wrongly previously (which means going through previous exam/ test papers or worksheets) or a recap and application of heuristic concepts or working on practice papers so that your child goes through the motion of doing papers and timing themselves...
so it really depends...
