Yes, they will issue the ID and password to login into moodle along the way.

The kids will need to access moodle to do their holiday homework.

So far, there is no open house for CCAs.

I’m surprised how the kids know what they want to join if they are not given a preview of the CCAs.

Lower primary CCA is not compulsory and my impression is that the offering is limited??? I recalled that when my girl was P1 (2008), her teacher asked them if they want to join a certain CCA and if the kids say yes, they will bring home the consent form. So if the kid says no, then there will be no consent form. BTW, I think band was not offered to P1 in 2008.

But last year, my boy brought home those CCA forms (band, badminton, basketball and wushu). That's all I can recall. We actually registered him for band and wushu but he only got into wushu :? Heard some P1 got to join the band but focus appeared to be more on P2. My kids told me that if only my P1 only choose band, then he will probably get to join. This year to play safe, we will only choose band So i am waiting waiting for the consent form to arrive but there's no news yet.

In our case, it's always driven by kids have something in mind to join (eg. friends joining as well). The time works well and logistically no issue, then they will go.

What about the CO and the guzheng group? Are these offered to the lower primary too?

Hi, ds just brought back an application form for deduction of Edusave for 4 school-based programmes, namely speech and drama, leadership programme, Houghton Mifflin programme, and a maths website. There’s no provision for opting out. Can I find out if the kids in P2 and above went through the same programmes? Are these "worthwhile investments"? No details on the programmes were given. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Usually, there’s no opt out for these things right? The school decides they’re worthy activities and are usually carried out during curriculum time.

For Houghton mifflin, you can't opt out as that is part of the english program. Meanwhile for the rest, I think it's compulsory. Don't think the charges are \"signifcant\"? So we just went along.

Yes, the charges are not significant. It’s just that I’m not keen on 1 of the programmes, and am just wondering if I could opt ds out of that programme. Ds just said that it’ll be a 30-min lesson per week, and I seriously doubt anything much can be done in that time period with a class of 30.

Wait till they get to secondary school! The Edusave deduction runs into a couple of hundreds!

That’s why I was thinking of not utilizing the funds if it’s not compulsory. Anyway, the form teacher said all are compulsory.
