      In Item 12:

      12. Is NUSHS participating in S1-posting exercise?

No. NUSHS does not participate in the S1-posting. We have our own PSLE online registration system. You can opt to participate in the S1-posting AND our own PSLE online registration at the same time.

NUSH own's PSLE selection must have A* in both Maths & Science ? Or 256 can already ?

Preparing for your son in 2011? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, I believe so though I am not very well versed with ACSI's programme. Maybe Jennifer or Harini would be in a better position to advise?

Sorry, I mean I know that Jennifer's son has transferred to NJC, but I believe she does know a bit more about ACSI because he son got a place there prior to being transferred to NJC.

Wah, I am impressed, maid's memory very powerful like the computer, hor ? ๐Ÿ˜„

Woowww I am impressed too 25hourmaid :udawoman:

The 250 COP for ACS(I) was for the Express stream in which the children take the O level exams.

ACS(I) is different from most schools as they have both the O-level and the IP streams (IB is offered instead of the A levels) in the same school. After sec2, the O-level students have another chance to join the IP programme and so the internal ACS(I) students have that advantage. Hope that helps ...[/quote]Thanks harini,

So when filling up the S1 form, there are 2 choices ? One for ACS(I) Express & ACS(I) IB ?

But I look at the MOE S1 posting book, it only give one COP leh ? :?

So, is it true if the IB students do not do well, they will be demoted to the Express program at Year 2 ?

        Thanks

:heresmyfish: :heresmyfish: :heresmyfish: Who said maid's memory fading ? :heresmyfish: :heresmyfish: :heresmyfish: My memory is still very good, okay! I know that you mentioned in one of the threads that your son is not so academically inclined, but I always thought you were not serious when you said that mah! Thought you have been joking all these while, since you were asking about VS for him. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Students who are in IP will be doing a six-year through train program all the way from Year 1 to Year, bypassing the 'O' levels. In the final year, most of the IP school students will sit for the 'A' level with the exception of ACS(I) and NUSH. ACS(I) studens will take the IB Exams.

                Hope it helps.

S1 form u just put in ACS(I) as ur choice. IB programme's cut off point differs from year to year and the children above a certain PSLE score are offered the IB pgm. This yr cut off was 255. So there is some 'suspense' and u dont know if ur child is getting the IB or not, until posting results are out and then the school internally fixes the cut-off to take in students to IB.

So thats the little 'risk' in putting ACS(I) as 1st choice not knowing if ur child will be in IB or O-level, whereas other IP schools are quite clear cut as they have only one IP pgm for the entire school. But well, there also the adv that the o-level kids can get into IB after sec2 and yes if u dont do well in IB u go to the o-level track too, so works both ways

when a child offered an IP thru dsa, when his result did not match the cop of 255, he may go to o level track unless he do well in sec 2 ?

The IB class will be group together in few classes in sec 1 ? how many classes are there right now ?

Final group of IB will be to determined by sec 2 ? how many will be in IB track in sec 3 ? 400+ ?

Sorry, but I think these questions would be more appropriate if asked in the ACSI thread. You seem very interested in ACSI, suggest that you post your specific questions in the ACSI thread.
