      Verysuperkiasu:
dd uses mainly algebra/simultaneous equations to solve problems. But she can be quite careless at times.

I believe any computation error in any method will not get method marks awarded. Care must be exercised regardless of any method used.

Really kudos to all KSP here, hv been reading abt all ur involvement in preparing ur kiddos for this last lap of PSLE. I must say every child is unique, and I'm certain all parents knows best which coaching method best suits their DCs. For myself, my plan is to make 25 Sep the last day of revision. During PSLE days, I will tell my dd to just 'rest & relax', she can choose to read a book, listen to music or even take longer naps. I feel sufficient rest is vital & essential thru out the 5 PSLE days, she shd enter the exam hall with a clear & relax mind, to ensure optimal performance.

All the best to all KSPs and kiddos for the PSLE, after the last paper, give yourselves a pat on the shoulders & enjoy the '3 months long holidays' before they start their new chapter. :grphug:

I can now start working with algebra on DS2!

            šŸ˜„

I am not going to work on algebra with ah boy. Will stick to U&P method - I find it easier to explain this method to him.

With the difficulty I have with DS1, I am going all out with DS2 to equip him with various methods. However, emphasis will be placed on U&P. I think my DS2 has some flair for maths, should be 'trainable'!

They've been cornered this time.

              šŸ˜„ Dun think cornered lah.

Ah boy was told the same by the sch teacher. Algebra will get method marks as long as the working is acceptable.

Cornered to give a definite answer wrt algebra as compared to the earlier emails reproduced here.

                Jennifer:
I got a reply from a MOE Curriculum Planning Officer, Mathematics, Curriculum Planning and Development Division

Bcos of this clause in the email: CONFIDENTIALITY: If this email has been sent to you by mistake, please notify the sender and delete it immediately. As it may contain confidential information, the retention or dissemination of its contents may be an offence under the Official Secrets Act.

I am not sure if I could cut n paste the email here. Here's the essence:

in school examination, method marks will be awarded for any accepted method (that is mathematically sound and clear), which is inclusive of the algebra method, even though the answer is wrong.
                Thanks!! This is great!
