It is no difference from doing A levels. You can go to local or foreign uni, do it full or part time so long as you qualify for the course. IB is accepted widely worldwide. Here's more info on the International Baccalaureate. http://www.ibo.org/

No harm to try.. not sure if anyone managed to get in after appeal..
My son was on Waiting List, but managed to get in after PSLE result was out (same day get the confirmation letter when you collect the PSLE result from school).
For current parents of SOTA students' parents, there is a Facebook page now for SPA (Sota Parents Association).. feel free to join this closed group.

Hi all,
I am not a mummy but a sec 1 student currently in SCGS. Though SCGS is a one of the top schools in singapore, it has not really given me the \"space\" to develop my passion, art. So I'm thinking of transferring through visual arts to SOTA next year.
However, I have certain things I'm still quite unsure about.
1. Given that I am actually in the lowest class in SCGS, is it okay to go to SOTA? My PSLE score was only 226 and I have friends with scores of 250 and above who are already in SOTA. So what's the average scores of students there?
2. So far, I am not doing very well for my CA's and i doubt my SA's will be any better. For CA3, i scored B4s and B3s for History, Geography, Science and Chinese. The only As i got are for English-A1 and Math-A2. So is this mark range acceptable? Also, Chinese is my worst subject and the only reason i managed to clinch a B4 is because I was cast as the lead in a theatre segment for Chinese that accounted for 30% of CA3. So if not for that I would have failed chinese. (CA2 chinese D7) So I would like to know if its okay to not do so well for chinese...(heheh)
3. If I were to join through visual arts, are there other opportunities for me to experience other art forms? I actually enjoy singing alot and my current CCA is choir. So will there be chances for me to do dance and theatre and all the other art forms?
4. Lastly, I like my art but I'm not sure if it's actually up to standard. I have a strong passion for it. Yet I'm not even sure if I can get in. so here's a link to some of my art stuff...

Anyways, I hope some mummies and current students of SOTA can answer my queries. Thank You in advance

Anyone else received the tea session invitation for 18 October? Could existing parents share what the session entails? The e-mail says "To better facilitate a clearer understanding of the SOTA curriculum and the SOTA-MOE Direct School Admission (DSA) process, we would like to invite you and your child/ward to attend a tea and engagement session with us"
We have attended the open house (last year) and the separate SOTA open symposium (in April), where the VP talked about the IB program, the philosophy etc, with separate breakout info sessions for the various areas (visual arts, dance, music etc). Does anyone know whether the information to be presented at the tea session on 18 October would be similar? Thanks. -
It should a session to help those with more than one CO and cannot yet decide for the School Preference Indication exercise come 21 Oct.
