I sometimes post stuffs without thinking too, let's just forget about everything that had happened, all the best for tomorrow!Nightmares.:
Sorry, but I was being rude... just sick that everyone judges me. And alright, I posted it without thinking, but you can't say you always think before you say something, no?
...Haiz. sorry Jennifer for being rude. And maybe selfish. Wish your ds the best of luck.화이팅! -

Only 1 difficult question ? ...let's be fair to those pupils who sat for the 2009 Maths paper...Jennifer:
In 2009, there was only 1 difficult question and everybody said the paper is difficult.
My elder boy sat for the 2009 PSLE.
Not sure whether this forum has a 2009 PSLE discussion then, also cant remember how active/inactive I was in such a discussion.
There was the sweets qn that elder boy could not resolve in the exam hall. He said he spent 20 mins staring at the qn. A few hours later, he solved the qn.
Difficult? Maybe not. But the brain power must be exhausted till cant see the light then.
I heard that year, some Nanyang pupils were crying after the Maths paper. Of course, the next day, newspapers were flooded with parental complaints.
If it is only 1 difficult question....
u wont got such an big outcry fr the public....over TV, radio n newsapapers
Where the media interviewed SMO students... BT IP schs' students...teachers n even a Principal...
I rmb there was a teacher who feedback that even the 2-3 marks questions werent easy....need to think hard before solving....
The reason that nowadays P6 pupils/ parents may find those questions Easy is becos ....
They were already \"being exposed\" or even drilled to do such similar questions,
either in schs or enrichment/ tuition centres....hence, nothing difficult...
But such problem sums certainly appeared unfamiliar to the 2009 batch....
What's more to be solved under constrained exam conditions ??
And not to forget ...the 2009 PSLE batch was the guinea pigs...
the 1st first batch who underwent the new change of the Maths format...
I only read about it from newspaper and so far I only found that 1 question. I am sorry if I didn't sound fair.
Does it mean that 2009 is the year where Primary School Maths became so difficult? -

The above must be the reasons why elder boy's brain was fried before the end of the paper.

My advice to all P6ers: hv a good night's sleep tonight. -
DS just told me tomorrow Math paper will be difficult. He said heard from tuition teacher. Wonder what is the process? Only allocated teachers in moe will know the questions?

Nightmares is just a 12-year-old. 不要跟小孩子计较la. I like his or her straightforwardness, and doesn't pretend to be humble, just like how a 12-yr-old should be. He or she is proud that he or she is excellent in Maths and does not hide his or her being proud of it. As a child, perhaps asking him or her to contain such feelings may be a tall order. I am sure most of us were not more mature than him or her when we were that age.
Agreed

Hear only the good stuff.
Ignore what the tuition teacher said.

After the big outcry of the 2009 PLSE Maths paper...
Does it mean that 2009 is the year where Primary School Maths became so difficult?
The following 2 yrs, 2010, 2011.... the general feedback fr KSP forum was that the Maths papers were rather \" Easy\"....most said manageable...
Hence, pple were anticipating that 2012 Maths paper would be a difficult paper ( since after 2 yrs of Easy papers)...
But again....the feedback here was \"Manageable\"....
So let's see the 2013 paper....
dont think Moe/ Seab wanna to repeat what they had seen/received in 2009....

Just sharing my humble opinion after going thru some earlier posts, it would be comforting to lend a listening ear and give kind advice as & when necessary, but need to be more sensitive wif ur words when communicating wif a mere 12 yr old, shd u feel that their posts are not that favorable & insensitive to others' feelings.
I feel the whole problem lies wif this T-score grading system & the fact that school posting, sad to say is based on T-Score. It has led many people (kids, parents, even some schools) to think that PSLE is all abt outdoing others, scoring an A* myself isn't good enough, it would be best if not too many others score A*; or even better if others is a low A* but mine is a high A*.
I personally feel that having to go thru all these stress is not easy for a 12 yr old, I think they are here to de-stress too, just like us, and I think I'm fine with & appreciate these kids for sharing how they feel here, just need to remind them to be more mindful, when they post anything as some may feel offensive or hurt.
I hv no intention of offending anybody here. Allow me to apologize, if I unknowingly did. Just sharing my view.
