Anyway the whole Singapore is saying that Maths is soooo easy and so the really affected will be the Top students of Maths. Their T Score for Maths will go down because the mean mark of Co hort will go up like anything. So i really pity & anyway all the best for the rest of the exams…

Usually I don't even scold DS if he makes careless mistake. I just listen, acknowledge and ask him what can he do to avoid making the same careless mistake. I think most children makes careless mistakes so I don't scold at all.Jennifer:
ah boy thinks it is a challenge to not make careless mistakes. He willingly let me cane him. Hmm, a ruler tap on the palm considered cane or not ah

Otherwise it's poor ah boy.
Talking about the ngl2010 post: 3 strokes for 99%, I think that's why MOE needs to take more urgent action to slow down the competitiveness so that our society will be a more graceful and humane one.
However, yesterday I exploded because he lost 2 marks which I think it is because of carelessness. Careless mistakes are very expensive mistakes now :sad: -

Today, I read fifteen HCL compo from the PSLE booklet answer sheets to ah boy. Drank 4 to 5 cups of honey? I think I am going to put on weight after PSLE ends.Tmr target reading another five HCL compo and ten CL compo.Then need to find some time to do last min Science revision

This is really sad. I know of another parent who caned the girl as she scored 98...all because the neighbour kid scored 99... And the kid grew up hating the parent... It's not worth it..ngl2010:
His 2 older siblings were the highest scorers in school and got into RI. This one definitely will get into RI too. The teachers knew about the canning but they couldn't do anything. Canning is still legal here.
So sad. There is misery behind the 'glamour'. Life can be easier if we learn to let go. It doesn't mean our kids will fail in life if they don't make it to XX and life may not necessarily be successful even if they made it to XX. -

:grphug: This is a transition period so different people handles it differently. Don't worry. I am sure with your explosion, your ds will be more vigilant in doing his science paper and maybe he can salvage 4 points to more than make up for the 2 points lost and get into his dream school all the same. Give him plenty of love and encouragement tomorrow. He will understand why you flared. :hugs: -
