Hihi, Hope to hear some feedback on the Art Club in primary school? Is it good training for kids who likes to draw?
-
Another quick question - looking at the website it seems that a lot of the communication around Chinese classes and activities is given in Chinese. Is this the case or do notes usually come back in English and Chinese? I do not speak Chinese - my husband does but whenever I ask him to translate things he will summarise a whole page into 1 sentence so I know I end up missing out on a lot

3 days PE, 1 day Pal T-shirt, 1 day uniformnms1:
Looking for some help from current parents to avoid me making the same mistake that I made with my daughter when buying uniform.
For P1 do the boys wear PE kit for the days that they have PE? If so, how many days a week will that be?
For my daughter I didn't realise and bought 4 sets of uniform and 2 of PE kit but she ended up wearing her PE shirt 3 times a week! By the end of P1 the PE kit was worn out and the blouses looked like new
Any other tips on things we should/shouldn't buy? Things you wish you had bought more or less of?
Is the PAL T-shirt available at admin/orientation day as well? Do they wear that with PE shorts or uniform shorts. -

you can possibly use back some of the text books if they are the same.

And some of the books in the book list are cheaper to get from Popular rather than the school book shop, and you can even get it at a discount if you are Popular member. They are the same books regardless of where you get it from.
Normally, Popular will have the books by Nov/Dec. -

optional books no need to buy unless you want. coz the class didn't use and I bought all .. I didn't use them yet. haha.
I check the discount not much different from Popular. -
Hi, does anyone know the status of the in-school student care? Is it still going to be ready by next year?

Popular sells some of the same text books at a cheaper price than the school book shop around Nov/Dec. If you are Popular member, you get a further 10% I believe.
This was discovered when the school book shop ran out of stock, and during that period, I went in online to Popular website to look for those out of stock books, and realized quite a number of the same text books and stationaries were cheaper at Popular than the school Pacific book store.
On top of that, if you are Popular member, you can get a further discount, so why not? -

Interested waitlist parent too.Hello to all parents,
I am a new member, I just joined kiasuparent.com last evening. I am on the waiting list to transfer my son to the MSH. He is currently P2. Really appreciate if any parents here can share with me:
1) Was reading from this forum (the earlier pages) that it was entrance test and changed to interview in 2009 (if I remember correctly). Is there a reason for the change that anyone might know?
2) Any idea what sort of questions they will ask the child?
3) How do you know if you are selected for interview?
4) How are the boys like? Do they embrace newbies?
5) How is the current principal's leadership? How about his interaction with the children, is he a ground person or nowhere to be seen? How about his interaction with teachers and parents?
6) Is MSH a high profile type of school or low? High profile means the school likes to be in the limelight.
7) Does the school demand heavy parental involvement in school events? If so, what is the frequency of commitment? And what sort of involvement?
Many thanks!
Appreciate advice from parents in MSHP. Thanks!
