Re: Updates on School-based Student Care Centre

After gathering feedback from parents during the P1 Registration, the school has started preparations for the School-based Student Care Centre. As there are many detailed arrangements to be made for such a school service, we are tentatively setting the starting period in Term 2 (end March) in 2014. We will be updating parents on the progress of this student centre.

As you prepare your child for transition into the primary school system, you may wish to visit the school website to familiarize yourself and your child with West Spring’s school rules which are expected to be observed by all West Spring pupils. The school rules may be found under the Announcement Box. When your child joins us next year, effort will be made to familiarize your child with the school rules as well.

Just want to know whether the school shoes are compulsory? Can we buy similar black velcro shoes for kids as school shoes?

Hi Miaor,

Yes, you may buy black shoes from outside. However, we do encourage parents to buy the black velcro shoes with the school logo on it so as to instil a stronger sense of pride in pupils for their school.
The school socks with the school logo is compulsory though.

West Spring Primary will be sending out a letter to all registered parents in about 2 weeks’ time. Please do spend time reading this letter very carefully as it contains lots of important information on school matters. Attached to the letter will be the following : school book list which includes PE attire & stationery, application for School-Based Student Care, bus operator information, Financial Assistance Scheme, Special Needs form and GIRO application for school fees.
